magazine knows that "watching the world" often gives little news snippets with no further analysis or spin-doctoring from the writing dept.
this is because for the jws reading it, they can do their own spin-doctoring and for any potential converts, it makes them think the awake!
First quote, to reinforce the idea of Babylon the Great, by their fruits you will know them, yada yada.
Second quote, to give the impression that the Awake is an up to date, relevant magazine with reliable information.
The bolded words together insinuate, to me, that nothing outside of what comes directly from the Org is really credible. They're usually assumptions or claims that later turn out to be false. So don't trust it. But maybe I'm reading into it too much.

So sorry....I started studying non-JW religions 4 months ago. They're still living with their God, not just being ruled over and seperate like JW's teach. I'm aware that Rev says heaven and then earth, so I should have made clear I was referring to the paradise earth JW's teach. Kind of thought that was implied since I refered to Tammy's post directly above me. And ftr, I don't claim any religion at all.

And there's one reason for so much depression among Jw's, Tammy.
Christianity does have a good thing going, getting to live in heaven with God, the one they've developed a relationship with. Paradise earth for eternity is nothing compared to that.

Not to derail the thread, but I just remembered this. I wasn't allowed to keep a diary. I was told that while the demons can't read your thoughts or heart, they can read what you write down and mislead you that way. Anyone else told that?
