  if you accuse people of being stuck in jw mindset or "cult-like" mentality simply because someone has a different view of politics than you, you'll be deleted.. it's insulting and a lazy substitute for having any real argument for a proper debate.. what next ... "you smell" ?.

  @millie had a good illustration either in this thread or a different (can't remember right now): If your child was sick and needed a surgery, a complicated surgery, right now, and you had to choose between doctors:

  1) A very experience and capable doctor that has done the needed surgery many times, no casualties. But he's not so charming. Maybe he's had 5 wives. Generally a jerk. Maybe rough around the edges. Hell, let's just say (even though this doesn't map with Trump) he's got a grand dragon KKK hood in his office.

  or

  2) A doctor everyone loves. Charismatic, nice. But loses 1/2 his patients.

  Which would you choose? Would you really care so much about doctor #1's faults? There are more pressing issues, and those faults can be set aside for the moment.

  I've said it this way:
  

  A man is wheeled into the ER with massive wounds everywhere, perhaps due to a car accident. The ER doctor starts to fix the small cut on the patient's hand while he bleeds out due to the massive chest wounds. How do you feel about this ER doctor?

  Focusing on Trump's charisma and his personality is like focusing in on the small cut. There are bigger issues to deal with. There are bigger problems to address in order to prevent death. The left is undermining general western principles. It has been happening for quite some time, but it is accelerated now.

  Let me try it this way:

  If Biden were to come out tomorrow and say: "Ok guys, we've been a bit stupid. No more identity politics. This systemic racism stuff is garbage. We need to promote systems based on merit. It is not a sign of "whiteness" to get up in the morning and hold a job, to delay gratification and save money. Frankly, we've been pushing real racism for a while and need to back off that. Also, the assault on fossil fuels is a bit exaggerated and we're going to kill a lot of people if we do this. Markets are good, and we have too much regulation, and we have to get our debt under control. And ... let's be honest, the COVID thing was a scare tactic. And good lord, the news media is flat out garbage now, always stoking racial tensions. I mean, CNN is more like the Onion than a news network. And don't get me started with the Green New Deal - that is a document only mentally retarded people take seriously. And, in general, some very western civ values, like freedom of speech and the principle of 'innocent until proven guilty' are actually good things."

  There are many more things, but if he said stuff like this, hell, *** I *** would have voted for him.

  So try again: It is NOT about Trump. It is about POLICY.

  Here we go: It was never about Trump. It was, and is, always about policy.

  When Trump would say “They aren’t attacking me, they are attacking you,” his supporters agreed. He was trying to move the country away from the leftist cliff edge. He represents a stand against the utter cultural, political, and economic rot coming our way.

  Dumb Elders

  i knew a few pretty intelligent elders .

  sometimes i would wonder why they remained as elders or even witnesses because they were successful men who made a good living and were highly respected because of their qualities.. that is a rather small group.

  most elders that i know of aren’t the brightest bulbs in the sky.

  it’s not clear yet, what they will be.. some suggestions; confiscate all guns.------buyback programs in each state.. there is much talk on social media that if this happens, the pandemic, + all the riots, + all the damaged property, + all the annual murders in america, - put together-will be like a sunday afternoon picnic, compared to all the deaths and property damage that will result because of “civil uprising” by millions of 2nd amendments advocates and just plain gun lovers.

  More assault guns equals more safety

  More grenade launchers equals more safety

  More flamethrowers equals more safety

  More nuclear bombs equals more safety.

  Where does this logic break down?

  There are net effects. This is the same one-step, one-layer, monomaniacal logic that’s applied to just about everything these days, even COVID.
  

  All of these weapons are, in one shape or form, equalizers. A woman walking through a dark parking lot is approached by a rapist. Are you really saying that she should feel safer because your regulations made it harder for him to get a gun? What if she knows for a fact he doesn’t have a gun? Is that any better? Is that going to prevent the rape? Sadly, it’s probably more accurate to assume that your preferred regulations would make it difficult for the woman to get a gun, but since the rapist is willing to rape in dark parking lots, he doesn’t really care about your stupid regulations, and is therefore more likely to be armed.
  

  Or how about my neighborhood’s situation? How can decent people fend off leftist mobs? With sticks? Maybe, with the press of your miracle gun-go-away button, you can get a leftist mob without guns. Great. How the fork does that help? It doesn’t.
  

  Less guns, less effective deterrent. You may think your society is safer, but on net, it’s not.
  

  I suppose a world without any guns at all, nuclear weapons, crime, government, or roving mobs of leftists would be safer. But that’s fantasy land. Utopia is not for this world, and will never be.
  

  Good lord - “assault guns”? Dare you to try and define that one.

  No he is not. ... except the part about being Canadian. That part is true. And being banned from YouTube - except that is more like a badge of honor these days. And it’s only half true, since all his videos still get uploaded to YouTube under a different account.

  This has come up time and time again, even on this forum. Prove it. Quote him - in context. He has an entire series of videos stepping through these claims one at a time. If you went searching for a smear site, they are all out-of-context bull shirt.

  But even if all your baseless claims were true, how does that change the substance of the argument above?

  i work at two separate hospitals and most of the rns i work with have stated they won't take the vaccine.

  i've read a report that 1/3 of rns will refuse the vaccine.

  for those in other countries do you see this being an issue or is it more an american phenomenon?.
