Every choice has its consequences. Your moral agency applies even more so when you must choose between the easy path and the moral path.
If you get disfellowshipped, for whatever reason, and the WT tells your family that loving God (and fearing Him) involves shunning you, and if they don't comply, they too will face disfellowshipment, that doesn't remove the choice each of them must make. Just because the choice is hard for them doesn't relieve them of the responsibility of their choice.
