I am not sure why pre-knowledge would negate the free will in the choice. Just because someone knows what someone would choose doesn’t mean that person didn’t actually make the choice.

Does prophesy negate free will?
by Tim207 innot sure if this is in the right subject but here it goes.
i’ve asked this question to a few elders and bethelites but they don’t seem to understand or like the question.
to start off we have to agree that jehovah is all powerful.

I am agreeing with Trump on the need to Nationalize issues that affect the entire nation.
by RubaDub ini'm generally not a trump fan but i do agree that things that affect the entire country should be handled in a centralized manner.
trump is stating that he will dictate when the states can open up again.
many governors, dems and reps, are fighting that saying that they have the power, not the president.

I am generally a Trump fan, but I disagree with him on this. It sets a horrible precedent. What is going to “affect the entire nation” next? Climate change? As time goes by, the power grabs are getting more alarming.

Theory of Wuhan virus being created in a viral lab now being considered
by JimmyYoung ini thought it was a strange coincidence that there was a weapons lab right near the supposed wet market where it started.
china needs to pay for this one way or the other.

Kind of sad how this forum developed over the time.
Translation: someone on the forum said something I don’t like, and because it’s no longer an echo chamber for my viewpoints, it is now a sad disappointment.

I don’t really take any MSM sources seriously these days. I’m sorry, but they are more akin to The Onion, and if you approach them this way, it makes it more palatable.

Do you have any evidence that the GB had bad intent?
by AlainAlam indo you have any evidence that the gb had bad intent?
as opposed to blind faith/cognitive dissonance and honest mistakes.. i'm inclined to think they have the best of intentions and are just wrong (primarily because the bible is wrong), but i'm willing to consider the evidence otherwise..

AlainAlam,
A few questions worth considering:
- What do you consider “bad intent”? Do you mean “malevolent”? Or “malicious”, or “having ill will” toward others? Having “ill will” would imply a purposeful action taken with a goal to harm. Or perhaps is it something more subtle, like refusing to accept evidence that invalidates a world view?
- Given #1: What would constitute acceptable evidence, to you, that the GB acted with bad intent? In other words, what would any of us have to prove for you to accept there is “bad intent”?

Have You Isolated Yourself Because of the Virus 🦠?
by minimus insome people i know have not gone out of their houses in weeks.

Actually, I have modified my schedule. I get up really early. Work. And if I need to get to the store, I go when it opens. Some stores have an hour in the morning for older people only. I can’t go to the old-people’s hour, but right after - get there as early as possible. I’ve noticed that the store is relatively empty, and the shelves have been restocked. I’ve been able to get disinfecting wipes and TP this way.
People are still buying water bottles - that’s the unsolved mystery of the decade.

Yeah, everyone wears gloves while shopping. And I have seen several behaviors that bother me:
- People reuse the gloves. What good does this do? Let’s say your gloves prevent something from getting on your hands. Great. But you take them off in the car and set them down... then pick them back up and fuss with them. I mean, if you’ve ever seen nurses in a hospital, they will get a new pair of gloves for every room. They leave the room, they discard the gloves. Enter a room, get another pair. I know why people reuse - lack of supply. But it isn’t helping much.
- People with gloves discard the gloves in the parking lot. Not sure if this has happened in your area. But here, there have been runs on the store, and the glove hoarders use the gloves in the store, and throw them away on the ground as they get in their car. Pure assholery.
- People use gloves... but still touch their face. *sigh*

Will Governor Cuomo be the Next President?
by RubaDub intrying to put politics aside (even though that won't really work), but ny governor andrew cuomo is blowing the other politicians out out the water (orange man [trump] and the lizard [biden]).. i don't know if cuomo has a usb port in the back of his head plugged into a hard drive but the guy speaks, analyzes and talks coherently.
the orange man always passes difficult questions to someone else.
the lizard can't comprehend what the question is but tries to answer something.. cuomo comes out with facts, analysis and direction on what needs to be done.

Cuomo said that all authoritarian effort is worth it, even if it saves one life. If we are successful in preventing just one death, no amount of economic hardship is too much. Don’t even discuss the net effects.
He also cheered on the latest NY abortion bill that allows termination of a pregnancy until birth.
Again, there is a sense of justification in what he is doing. But I don’t buy his motivation. If you think Cuomo actually cares about anyone, you are a fool. He is a leftist. That means he a bubbling stew of incompatible ideologies and logical contradictions - an opportunist with an addiction to power.
My worry is that all of the temporary controls will be “temporary”.
