The WT makes it seems as if it's a sacrifice for the anointed to go to Heaven instead of petting lions and having picnics on a paradise earth.
Think of how many JWs say, "I wouldn't want to go to Heaven. What would I do there?"
of course most christians partake in different ways at different intervals (the bible never says strictly annual) but obviously the main point is christ's flesh and blood.
for jws the main attraction is the organization's sales pitch and in the new 2023 memorial invitation they pretty much admit it, quote:.
the main feature of the memorial is a talk.

i don`t think so .
hasn`t science ,astronomy ,time , .....proven it an illogical beleif ?.
with the information about this solar system and it`s planets ,other stars and their planets that we have information about ,and the fact that no god has ever revealed him/her self in any shape or form 'there is no evidence that a creator / god has ever existed.. except in the minds of humans who want to control a section of humanity .. the fact that religions rely on "you have to have faith" to beleive in a god ,surely is a cop out.. i look forward to your comments .. and a happy new year to you all..
Advancing scientific knowledge regarding the complexity of everything from the universe itself to the components and working of the cell provide evidence for intelligent design.
Did all of this complexity and fine tuning really come into existence from nothing?
In fact, on an atheistic model, why does anything exist rather than nothing at all?
i got a message that my password on this site has been part of a leakage.
is this known?
where can i change my password?.
Simon,
What's the issue with LastPass?
mark jones explains the watchtower gospel much better than i can.. "the good news that christians in the first century preached was the birth, death and resurrection of jesus christ; that all those who believed in him were saved and reconciled to god through the death of his son.. unfortunately jehovah’s witnesses) have been led to believe it is something bizarrely different.
the good news according to the watchtower society is as follows:.
the the good news (according to jehovah’s witnesses).
Vanderhoven7,
Before you join, ask them to show you the pyramid measurements which verify their timetable.
it would appear that circuit overseers (no dos these days i guess) are taken off at 70 years old.
even older ones in bethels are disposed (sorry 're-assigned to the field) of before they get too past it.. how come though the old boys on the gb aren't shown the door at 70 and replaced by younger men - obviously of the recently anointed type?
they don't look a particularly fit bunch so they can't claim special mightiness because of doing 'the lord's work'.
The GB are above the rules they apply to everyone else.
curious.
time goes by so fast.
who remembers 1975, the ray franz incident, the generation change in 1995, the blood fractions, alternative service, participation in ochr, aid afrique, the historical research by james pellechia, jolene chu and johannes stephan wrobel?
the answer is a definite no!.
because every doctrine that is unique to jehovah's witnesses is not in the bible.
the unique doctrines of jehovah’s witnesses are the ones that only jehovah’s witnesses teach.
The WT's idea of "biblical" is to first figure out what they believe and then hunt through the Bible for some out-of-context verses they can twist to teach it.
for the same reasons jw's reject christmas they use the name jehovah.. dec 25 is the recognized day to celebrate the birth of christ in the world.- we use jehovah because it is the recognized name of the father in the world.. it dishonors jesus because we don't know the actual date of jesus birth- even though we don't know the actual pronouncing of gods name it brings honor to god to use it.
even though the angels rejoiced at the birth of jesus, no where in the bible does it say we should celebrate it.
even though no where in the bible does it say christians are to be witnesses of jehovah, we proudly bear his name!.
It's sad when you read a post that might as well have been cut and pasted from the Reasoning book.
No original thinking at all.
Just parroting the company line.

In addition, people who are fortunate enough to make it into Jesus' 1000 year reign over the earth will have to clean up the carnage of Armageddon.
They will also have to reach moral perfection by the end of the 1000 years and pass a final test by Satan. If not, Jehovah will annihilate them.
Even after they pass the "final test," they (like Adam in Eden) will always still be capable of choosing to disobey Jehovah in some way. If they do, Jehovah will annihilate them.
So trying to attain to perfection and knowing that there will never be a point at which their salvation is 100% secure is what the Watchtower calls "paradise."

many on here are ex jw....they have left the jws because of coming to find out the many false indoctrinations.
one of the things learned as a jw is that there isn't anything true about xmas being the birth of jesus.
( matt chapter 2 tells a whole different narrative about the baby jesus than what is portrayed by the christian churches) they learn the ways that are celebrated are pagan practices jesus told the samaritan woman that god wanted to be worshipped in spirit and it truth.
Given that Romans 14 says that it's up to the individual what days to celebrate or not celebrate, I never could understand why the WT made such a big deal about holidays, including Christmas.
Now I understand that it's all about a much larger program of thought and behavior control.
