Been wondering about the poking Jah in the eye thing
by mamalove insome other recent posts have made me think of the teachings of the jw's that claim that when the governments are supposed to squash all religion.
this including the holiest of holy, the jw's, and then that will be like poking their jehovah in the eye.
then this was supposed to incense him (poke him in the eye analogy) and cause him to......refresh my memory, was god supposed to stomp on governments and make the jw's the big cheese, or what was the teaching on this??

Witnesses! Are the Disfellowshipped Enemies?
by metatron inthere are countless witnesses who fully support the watchtower's policy on shunning the disfellowshipped - and eagerly extend it to the inactive, in accord with the governing body's orders.
they see nothing wrong with this unloving behavior.. if you are among these eager shunners, i have a question for you that might open up your heart and mind as to why the watchtower is wrong:.
are the disfellowshipped enemies?

Is there a new 'rule' about disfellowshipping which can make it null and void?
by whitman infirstly, if anyone involved in this situation is reading this i hope i haven't overstepped the boundaries by raising this question here.
i'll try to keep it as anonymous as possible.. so folks this is the situation.
it has just been brought to my attention that during some type of shepherding call to a a disfellowshipped person who is experiencing serious mental illness as a result of the situation and the shunning from his family (his father is an elder), an interesting twist of events occurred.. one of the 'shepherding' elders asked the d.f-d person whether they had prayed and dedicated his/her life fully to jehovah before the baptism.

Grandparent's Day Origins
by garyneal ini post this topic for as far as i (and some of the people that i know) know, this holiday is new.
i looked at wikipedia and apparently it originated in 1978 but i could not find any information regarding whether or not this holiday had any pagan origins.. we all know the jehovah's witnesses do not celebrate any holidays and naturally when i asked my wife about this 'new' holiday she was a bit provoked.
she went on with the usual spiel of "why do we need a special day to celebrate our grandparents?
