long time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.
i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.
that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .

my son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.
since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.
i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?

not sure if this has been mentioned on this board yet, but i just heard from a fairly reliable source that the annual meeting will discuss, among other things, major changes in the 'bible teach' book.
has anyone else heard this??.

Congregations should continue to request What Does the Bible Really Teach? and “Keep Yourselves in God’s Love” to maintain a modest supply at the Kingdom Hall. This will assist in reducing existing stock at the branch office before the revisions are released

someting happened yesterday that i thought might be noteworty enough to relate to you here.. mrs. eyz and i were invited to my new boss's home for his annual end of summer party.
it's a pretty big deal....his is a name known locally (i'll call him j.r.) a really nice interesting guy who's held a number of high level and politically connected jobs.
there was to be music, dancing, wine and reprotedly lots of well dressed, well educated, well to do and influential people (oh yes...and us) in attendance.. anyway we thought we'd make an occasion out of it and got ourselves spiffed up which involved new outfits and extra mirror time before we left home.

It does take a few years out, to clear your mind of 'them'
calling all the shots. Congratulations for taking control of

my husband and i were both born ins.
i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.
we were one of those couples who followed the script, married young and ended up having nothing in common other than the religion.
Pink, if you had no dependent children, that
would be one thing.......but you do, 4 of them!
Whatever the situation is with your hubby, sit
down and think.
Do you really imagine that what you have right
now....all the care, work, worry, & expense will
somehow be eased if you are out there alone,
with no money coming in! No father at all in the
house! No one else there for the kids...just you?
Think...what are you setting these kids up for?
Do you think for a moment that some other "nicer"
man will jump at the chance to shoulder all these
responsibilities?

i was still in when we got together but my wife never was.
when we actually got married i moved out of my parents place and never went back to a kingdom hall again.
Backformore...hello, ...while I understand babyfever,
I think you may be in denial of your reality.
Facts are hard to accept sometimes, especially when
it points to a loss of youth. It might not be a case of
losing out on another child!
A couple of facts that you have given us, is that
you do have two lovely healthy children already and.....
