Why has the WT not tried to shut down this board?
by hamsterbait inwe all know that beth hell monitors this site.. they have repeatedly had sites shut down for quoting large portions of their litterature.
not this one.. do you think this board enables them to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in ex and aposto land?

If the Governing Body Told You They Love You All Very Much, What Would Your Reply Be?
by steve2 inin a letter in the 2013 yearbook of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body sign off with the words, "we love you all very much".
these words were later echoed by one of the governing body in an address to french jehovah's witnesses in july this year.
these words sound so marvellously compelling and heartfelt - goosebump inducing, even.. imagine the governing body wrote these words to you or expressed them to you in person- yes to you reading these very words.

Those two are really making watchtower squirm!
Won't do wt any good, M & K will just pop up

by Quendi ini wonder if anyone else has had this experience or know of others who have.
when i was disfellowshipped, i approached another disfellowshipped person after the memorial celebration and asked him over for some refreshments and conversation.
he turned down my invitation saying that the elders had told him that he could not even talk to other disfellowshipped persons unless and until both he and they were reinstated!

got told off by a df sister for smiling & quietly
saying hi to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also seen how "worldly" friends & family will
also disappear into the woodwork when an older jw
leaves wt or gets df'd because............. they know
wt will abandon that person .......and they don't want
to 'get stuck' with helping them .......so the exjw is
doubley screwed over & totally alone!

Today's public talk: shameless indoctrination
by OneEyedJoe intoday's talk was really somethin'.
so much so that i felt compelled to post this during the wt study.... i didn't pay attention to the theme, but where i to title the talk it would be "logical fallacy, scripture out of context, and phobia indoctrination: a case study in cult indoctrination.".
that's certainly a more honest title than whatever they gave, i'm sure.. it starts out by saying that sometimes people are skeptical about things they're told, and feel compelled to look for evidence of the claims.

You're right, when you know the speaker
is a great guy & normally logical ..... it is
all the more disturbing to hear garbage
coming out of them.
All that indoctrination just winds them up even
tighter, into a ball of pure BS, that affects
everything in their lives.
Everything now becomes tainted with it!
Ha ha .. looking at life through brown splattered
glasses!
The day those glasses came off my eyes was the
BEST!
You will know when you have reached your
limit.

weird: passing around literature fragments in prison
by Magnum ini dont have any specific references, but over the years i remember reading in the mags and hearing in talks stories of imprisoned jws who would somehow get a piece of a page of a jw magazine or an article or something like that and pass it around and get spiritually nourished by it as if it almost had a magical or supernatural nature.
does anybody else remember such?.
i always thought it just didnt make sense.

Really, so many of us went thru this whole
running & hiding thing before 1975.
Because ww2 was still etched in peoples
minds in the 50's & 60's ....that fear of
confinement in concent ration camps was
palpable ....we could still feel the fear of
what it might be like, maybe ...'gestapo'
putting a bullet thru our heads
for not denying wt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!omg
Sooooo when wt said jump....we jumped.
What a bunch of evil people who could
hound millions of innocents by terrorizing
them for more than a century!
