i've never posted here before, but i've lurked patiently for a few weeks, debating on whether or not to tackle a new message board.
i guess i'll make at least one post and see what happens.
anyway, a little background about myself.

When I left, I'd reached the point where I thought if Jehovah existed, he must be a sadist. Even now, just the thought of one child dying of malnutrition - so completely preventable & futile & sad - refutes the existence of God to me. It just doesn't make sense, & if it does make sense, that is not a God I would be interested in serving.
i clicked on the site showing the 2005 conventions someone posted and saw a lot of goodies... i found some more recent statistics of the jw's.
it shows how many attended the memorial..and says 8570 partook in 2004. it seemed like a few years ago it was around 10,000.. it's on the left side under topics..last one is statistics..the other links are informative also..you can break them down by country... .

perhaps i would.. struggeling with doubts of course, but going to the meetings and turning in 2 or 3 hours on my report every month like i used to.... what about you guys?
I left after a meeting one night - just walked out & never went back. Something in me had snapped (or woken up?!) But finding sites out there with ex-dubs on them & negative information about the Witnesses was absolutely great - I started looking on the public library computer, then on my parents' computer - it was addictive! CoC was the real clincher, though. So yes, I still left, but the internet has made the process a lot less painful! When I left I thought, 'I don't care if I die at Armageddon, I'll tell Jehovah just what I think of him.' I am definitely over that!

According to the WTS publicity department, Australia doesn't even rate a country! We are not even under 'Asia & Pacific Region'. Go figure!

Talesin, oops, forgot to update. Yep, good, my sister-in-law had an unnecessary induction by gel & then drip, an epidural & vacuum suction. Came out good though - beautiful little boy, 8 pounds something. He's gorgeous! All's well that end's well

No, not on free to air. I think on pay tv it's about 5 years behind, too! This way, I'm about 4 or 5 months behind. I just started getting the vids again after a break of a couple of years, but I gotta admit I love them. They are perfect relaxation tools! Much better than trying to read a book when you've been reading & typing all day!

Oh my god, I love Coronation Street! I was born in Barrow & my aunt & uncle get tapes of Coro sent to Adelaide, & then they send them to me (in Sydney!) I just got one today - they are great lunch-time study breaks!

That is a brilliant idea, I love it!! Surely the media will pick up on it?! I am so sick of hearing about how the dubs clean the bloody stadiums after they leave - we all know cleanliness is next to godliness, right?!
