The only downside about going to Canada is how far they are behind in the soaps - Corrie is about 6 months and Emerdale about 2 years !

We live about 15 mins away from where they film it (you used to be able to walk round it). Still, you will often see them filming bits around Manchester.

It's quite a good representation of what it's like around here.

Yah, I know about the 'behind' thing, they are now playing an extra episode a week, so Canada should be caught up to UK by the end of 2005. I didn't realize Emerdale was so far behind ... I don't watch it, but my dad does.

I think that's why folks love Corrie so much, it's the most reality-based soap around ... kinda cool to be able to see the set.

Actually, I kinda half-watch it, so I can talk to my dad about it... it's his fav show, heheh.

Oh my god, I love Coronation Street! I was born in Barrow & my aunt & uncle get tapes of Coro sent to Adelaide, & then they send them to me (in Sydney!) I just got one today - they are great lunch-time study breaks!

ps - I hate Liz & Bette! Love Ashley, Karen. Still mourning Maxine.

No, not on free to air. I think on pay tv it's about 5 years behind, too! This way, I'm about 4 or 5 months behind. I just started getting the vids again after a break of a couple of years, but I gotta admit I love them. They are perfect relaxation tools! Much better than trying to read a book when you've been reading & typing all day!
