I've seen a few 20 and 30-something JWs out and about in FS the past couple of weeks. When they walk door to door, they walk so slowly you'd think they were in a Matrix like slow-motion movie scene. It's rather hysterical to watch. Nothing urgent or "life saving" about it. It's all about wasting as much time in between houses. Bless their hearts. But at least, Suavojr, you find better ways to avoid talking to people. Good for you.

When You Were In, Did You Think Everyone Was Out To Get You Because You Were. A Witness?

I was terribly paranoid, and very scared as a child. I was expecting the Great Tribulation at any instant. I was constantly worried about persecution. I was paranoid about demons and dreamt of demon attacks on a regular basis. I was terrorized by the meetings -- the talks on demons, persecution and armaggedon.
I had the horrible misfortune of being in an earthquake when I was home alone as a youngster -- my first earthquake. I was on the sofa taking a nap and when it started to move, I jumped up, terrified and jumped right out the living room window (the door was right next to the window; why I didn't walk out the door, who knows). Neighbors found me running up and down the street utterly hysterical screaming about demons and shouting JEHOVAH. How damn humiliating is that?!!
I grew up in fear imposed by Watchtower Corp and the imagery in its publications. That's child abuse and plain and simple.

My personal favourite: “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”

Losingit,
I went through an awful, awful time once. It lasted for a few years. Very emotionally traumatic. I'm quite amazed I survived it. At times, all I could do is to remind myself "just breathe." Some days, putting one foot in front of the other seemed near impossible. So..."Just breathe" worked -- I focused on that.
Also, when things would get quite difficult, I would have a cup of tea. It may not have made anything any better but the way I look at it, it couldn't hurt any.
If you find yourself teetering, perhaps have that cup of tea. It may not make anything better, but at least you will have had a cup of tea.

the driver stopped in the middle of a block and stared at the coca-cola truck that was parked there.

Hortens,
She sounds interesting, and fun to hang around! A lot more fun than your average, dull as dishwater person who complains regularly of being bored. At least she has towers and gypsies to busy herself.

Losingit,
Go into survival mode. What must you do to survive? Paperwork is essential to your family's future? Get it done whether you want to or not, whether you can bare the thought of it or not. Don't focus on what you want or don't to do right now. Do what must be done, however unpleasant or seemingly impossible.
Hugs to you.

Why do you no longer have a facebook account? Your decision or something your hubby wanted?
