KH = Private Property (No Trespassing sign)... wtf?
by Scully in.
do other churches have "no trespassing" signs on the grounds?.
i don't recall ever seeing "private property - no trespassing" signs on other churches, especially ones that have a priest or minister available at all hours, or ones that offer space for community services or other kinds of events.. i wonder whether there is some kind of legal expectation of a charitable organization that pays no taxes to offer access for community services in order to maintain their tax free status.. anyone else ever see signs like this on kh property?.

Does 2 John 10-11 encourage shunning ex JW's?
by TimothyT ini was reading john's second letter before in my nlt bible and i came accross the scriptures used to back up the act of shunning former jw's.
in my bible it reads totaly contrary to the way the jw's say, so i decided to get out the old nwt bible which gives exactly the same ideas.
here are some of my thoughts:.

You're right Timothy. The council at 2 John specifically is referring to those who were actively and opening stating that Jesus was not the Messiah. Today in Dub-dumb-land, those words are twisted and applied to anyone who commits the following offenses:
- Questioning anything the Governing Body says;
- Celebrating your child's birthday
- Celebrating any 'worldly' holidays such as Easter, Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Valentines Day, etc. etc.
- Going to another church
- smoking
- speaking to others who may be disfellowshipped;
- a host of other offenses dreamed up by Crooklyn.
Ironically, Witnesses do not apply those words with atheists, Muslims, Jews or anyone else who does not believe Jesus was the Messiah. They will work and speak with all of these people, yet they shun their own flesh and blood who may believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Makes absolutely no sense, but of course, since when does that make any difference in this cult?

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 09-11-2011 WT Study (CLEAR WARNINGS)

Picture yourself on a journey in an arid land. You spot a well in the distance and head for it, hoping to get some water to quench your thirst. Upon arriving, however, you see that the well is dry. How disappointed you are! False teachers are like dried-up wells.
Pot, meet kettle:
"...we don't have to guess what the year 1975 means if we read the Watchtower. ...And don't wait 'till 1975. The door is going to be shut before then....As one brother put it, "Stay alive to Seventy-Five..."---- Wisconsin Sheboygan District Overseer Brother Charles Sunutko 1967 .
"Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end."----Kingdom Ministry May 1974 p.3
"...It may be that some who have been serving God have planned their lives according to a mistaken view of just what was to happen on a certain date or in a certain year. They may have, for this reason, put off or neglected things that they otherwise would have cared for. But they have missed the point of the Bible's warnings concerning the end of this system of things, thinking that Bible chronology reveals the specific date.....Did Jesus mean that we should adjust our financial and secular affairs so that our resources would just carry us to a certain date that we might think marks the end? If our house is suffering serious deterioration, should we let it go, on the assumption that we would need it only a few months longer? Or, if someone in the family possibly needs special medical care, should we say, ‘Well, we'll put it off because the time is so near for this system of things to go'? This is not the kind of thinking that Jesus advised."-----Watchtower July 15, 1976 p. 440 par. 11
To elders of the Ephesus congregation, Paul said: "From among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things."
Yes, and every single religion can claim the exact same thing. Jesus would have been viewed as an "apostate" by the Scribes and Pharisees. The Anglican Church was viewed as 'apostate' by the Catholic Church, and on and on. The WTS is viewed as "apostate" by those who still follow Russell's teachings. In actuality, the term 'apostate' has lost all meaning because interpretations and views are always changing. The fact that Russell himself was viewed as a wacko with bizarre teachings doesn't seem to faze the idiots that write this tripe. Russell, Rutherfraud, Knorr, Franz etc. have all spoken "twisted things" and lived to see their teachings fall flat. No matter to these loons though: they still have 'de troof' no matter how badly they continue to screw up.
No matter what false teachers may say, we will not follow them! Why go to such dried-up wells only to be deceived and disappointed? Instead, let us be determined to remain loyal to Jehovah and to the organization that has a long record of quenching our thirst with the pure and refreshing waters of truth from God's inspired Word.
Well, unfortunately for Crooklyn, more and more are leaving and will continue to leave because thanks to sites like JWN, JWFacts and Freeminds.org, more and more Witnesses are logging in and discovering the truth about 'the Truth'.
This article sounds utterly desperate on their part, which they are. Instead of shoring up the flock though, it's actually articles like this that are getting people out. Why? Because the numbskulls are vague and secretive about what 'apostates' are saying and that gets the R&F interested. That's what got me out. I used to sit there and think "okay, why don't you tell us what exactly they're saying so we can defend ourselves against them?' Of course, once you've read CoC or ISOCF, it becomes all too clear as to why they're so vague when it comes to 'apostate teachings'. They're terrified that they won't be able to keep all their dirty little secrets well, secret and that's exactly what's happening. Too bad Crooklyn. Articles like this is not going to stem the tide or prevent tens of thousands making their way to the Exit door each and every year.

59 is far too young to die. I didn't really know onacruise very well, but from what everyone's written on here, he was well liked and respected by many. Bikerchic, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I first came across Rick's website as I was leaving JW's. My first thought was "This is a dis-service to those trying to expose JW's." Such a website can only attract the mentally ill.
And he seems to be only getting worse. His website could have been a very positive thing at one time. Other ex-Witnesses such as Freeminds.org and jwfacts are a wealth of information exposing the WTS for what it really is. The Six Screens of the WT has become the Maury Povich show: it may have started out seeming rational and objective but quickly degenerated into a show for the insane and fringe lunatics who eagerly lap such nonsense up.
Sadly, I bet you feed off our negative (and honest) feedback.
Sadly, I think you hit the nail on the head with that one Jeff. No matter how retarded Rick's threads or posts are, no matter how many times he has been exposed as a liar and a con artist and a total nutter who seems to be rapidly losing his grasp on reality, he just keeps coming back for more. Like the WTS when exposed, Rick seems to have convinced himself that whenever someone posts anything negative about him or his site, he's being 'persecuted' and apparently wants to see himself as a marytr of some sort.
Reminds me of Alice.in.Glueland.......

Judge Rutherford steps off a curb, is struck by a truck and dies.....
by Terry inpastor charles taze russell died on a train outside pampas texas in october of 1916.. shortly afterward a phonecall was placed to j.f.rutherford that "the old man is dead.".
as we all know, rutherford wasted no time.
he engineered a series of moves that placed himself at the helm of a publishing company.

Mary
WHAT specific POSITIVE impact would be LOST on the world from Rutherford's sudden death in October 1916?
It's kind of like watching the ending of Inglorious Basterds and wondering "what if?"
On a religious level, I think the entire religion would have simply continued on with The Bible Students or whoever the group is that still follow Russell's teachings. Since Freddie Franz had been baptized in 1914, chances are he would have somehow tried to grab the reigns of control at the first opportune moment, and they'd still be teaching some pretty dumb-assed doctrines, but I don't think it would be quite as bad as what it is now.
On a personal level, I would have most likely never have been born.

#1... How much money is collected?
If they're now accepting Visa and Mastercard, I would guess that the donations will increase quite a bit.
# 2... Do they accurately report all they collect to to the attendees?
Probably not. I would tend to believe that they announce a lesser amount in order to guilt the R&F into giving more, more, more!
#3... Does The Watchtower use a secretive formular to motivate the Witnesses to contribute more?
It's not very secretive as long as your bullshit detector is working. Don't they guarantee that X amount of dollars will be sent to Crooklyn, no matter how much is collected in donations? It's not a percentage---it's an amount, which is really quite pathetic. If they collect $20,000 at an ASSembly, they don't send Crooklyn 20%. They 'make a pledge' that they'll send $5,000 to Mother, come hell or high water. If they've actually got $20,000 and expenses are say only $5,000, then it's not a huge deal. But what happens when you only get $6,000 in donations? The bastards still send Crooklyn the $5,000 before any of the expenses are paid, leaving the circuit in the hole if the expenses total more than the $1,000 you have left. This will guilt everyone into 'digging down deep for those greenbacks' because 'God loves a cheerful giver'.
