  Death and Forgiveness

  my father died wednesday night.

  he's been bedridden, paralyzed, and tube fed for nearly five years, so it was more release than tragedy.. those of you who know my story will understand the miserable mix of emotions his passing has caused.

  the whole guilt and forgiveness issue shoved itself right up my nose into my forebrain.

  How many of us have had issues with Blood??

  how many of us have had a problem with the blood issue when you were a dub??

  what help were the elders in the cong?.

  are you still opposed to taking blood??

  I'm so sorry you lost your twins. It will always hurt to think about it. You did nothing wrong to cause the loss.

  my dad is looking at a whole bunch of sites, freeminds, silentlambs, etc, and i pointed him in this direction.

  This is a good question, Lydia.

  I'm sorry to hear about the problems you had to go through with your daughter. I am glad she is alive today. What a horribly emotions time for you. I hope you have healed from the guilt you had felt.

  I, like Scully, hemorrhaged after my first delivery. I can remember getting very euphoric while in and out of consciousness but refusing blood.

  Having worked in the medical field for the past 25 years and having known that the blood stance was a hard one to understand for me, much less the average jw, I today would not hesitate to take a transfusion of any kind that would save one's life. Life is the precious thing, not the symbol of it!

  For those who've left - any regrets?

  i left almost nine years ago at age 18; my only real regret was that i was good friends with a young brother and i never said goodbye to him, or even let him know that i was planning to leave (had to leave my parents' home secretly while they were at the meeting one sunday; they had such a hold over me that i could never have stood up to them and told them beforehand).

  .

  i have no other regrets about leaving; i'm am now happily agnostic and so thankful that i found the strength to break free.. anyone have any similar regrets?

  I agree with the others who have said "not leaving soon enough".

  Now I watch my son stuggle with informing his wife on how he feels and wish I had never gotten my kids into this.

  Taking a couple of Days Off

  well, it's finally hit me!today is my one week anniversary on this site(no cakes or anything thanks.

  )anyhoo, ive definitely gotta take a break!this is a very addictive site because it confirms all the things i've always suspected about being a dub but could'nt prove it!so being the hollow chocolate jw bunny i am, im takin a few off to get my brain recharged,then back to learn more about my "heritage religion", and make more cool freinds!peace out ya'll
