Englishmans BBQ
by katiekitten inno one else will be up yet, let alone have access to the internet, so let me be the first person to thank englishman and her ladyship for being wonderful hosts, at what was the event of the year.. i met so many brilliant people and had a fantastic time.
englishman has a lovely family, and shame on him for tempting an old lady like me with such handsome young sons.
crumpet is a charming, beautiful, lady, who just needs a mum to love her like she deserves to be loved.

"Tear Down the Watchtower Day!"
by 144001 inafter surviving what has been a rather depressing week, an idea suddenly came to me.
after being born and raised in the loathsome cult that is the watchtower, i was deprived of many things, including without limitation all holidays and the accompanying joy that goes with them.
as an adult, i've been celebrating all the traditional "worldly" holidays, but although i enjoy and appreciate them, i've noticed that there's something missing.

I think this is a wonderful idea, 144!
And though July 4th is one where we hear firworks going off, I think to have our own holiday, seperate from any other country's holiday, would be great.
hmmmm, but what day? How about the day the first WT was printed? (Blondie need your expertise here! lol)
I would love to say the day of the memorial, but that changes from year to year and is soooo JWish. lol I like the idea of a set date every year. Something to call our own.
ok, enough from me, I'll think about it some more.

Bethelites & Gilead members need almost constant reinforcement that they are the true elite of the JW-world
can you say- PROPAGANDA!
I felt that all the "daily text" and "meetings" were propaganda at it's finest. Mind control with guilt.

those poor souls still listening to the WT sprew.
My mother was happy as can be with the new "imminent domain" thing, hoping that people would turn on Babylon now. lol, I reminded her that the WT has some very prime property that will be heavily taxed.
poor thing, still looking for "signs" that the end is almost here.

Finally, I found the REAL truth!
by N at H inhello everyone, just wanted to say hello and let you know a bit about my story and tell you how thankful i am that i found this site!.
i was never a baptized jw although in the early 90's i studied for about 3 years and was an un-baptized publisher for about 1 year before my doubts about some of the beliefs and also my inability to overlook the constant hypocracy of the elders did me in.
sadly it was not before i dragged the love of my life into it, and also my sister (they are both baptized although she left after seeing the elders double standards when it came to doling out counsel/punishment to their own families, he is still in) anyway even though i couldn't bring myself to commit to the org because of the crap i saw going on in the 2 different halls i attended i still believed it was the truth...what an idiot!

welcome to the rest of your life, guilt free.
Yes it is the walk-away believers that I feel sorry for. The carry the guilt but can't figure out what is really wrong with the JWs. Be patient with your loved ones, maybe one day you can reach them.

ok, I forgot about when husband's father died Sept of 2003. Husband told the family that his family will not go to the memorial if they treat us the way they treated my husband at the hospital when his father died.
We all traveled up from Florida to Wisconsin for the memorial. We were cooly treated at the KH. Then the family went back to the senior center where his parents lived. The congregation prepared a meal for the whole family. (Several "wordly" family members there.) I was talking with some of the relatives I hadn't seen for years, catching them up on what was new with Steve & I when the elders had Steve's brother-in-law walk back to the apartment to get Steve to get me out of there. I was not inviited to eat a meal with those grieving. *shock*
My daughter left the dining room with me. Steve's family later implied that I brought it on myself to be treated that way because I was *gasp* df'd.
My husband reminded his brother-in-law, who was df'd several years ago, that we weren't df'd for wrongdoing.
Since then we have nothing to do with his family. We will not put ourselves in the position to be treated like that. SHUNNED.

My husband and I were df'd in Feb 2003 for standing up for child abuse. My family are all JWs. My mom was recently widowed and I have been helping her with the transition/bills/band accounts. My sister has not talked with me since our brother's wedding May of 2003. The last time my sister was at our mom's house she questioned our mom on why she is still talking with me. Mom explains "family business" and I'm the closest child. My daughter threatens to take our mom to the elders and storms out of our mom's house saying, "I'll see you in the resurrection." She has not talked with our mom since.

Please check out my letter to my sister and tell me what you think.
by Apostanator indear *****.
i know jehovah's witnesses view people of the world as bad because satan is the ruler of the world and we are all controlled by him.
you preach that we will all soon die at the hands of jehovah at armageddon.
