by candidlynuts inhas anyone called bethel to confirm that this is an official proclamation?.
a few 1000 phone calls might get some attention... probably cause warning talks on getting your information thru emails instead of publications ... i know some of you here do call bethel on occasion..just wondering if anyone has called to ask about this latest stuff..

SKYPE - ANYONE

by nicolaou inif you've already been 'announced' and were at the kingdom hall to hear it, how did it feel?
i think when my time comes i may be there.
a part of me says "sod 'em", but another part wants them to see how happy i am.. hmmm, not sure..

Was I present for my announcement? LOL! HAHA! And miss one of my regular volleyball nights?
I already knew how it was going to be worded, so why bother? My wife went to the meeting and left right after they announced it. When I got home later that night, she had already polished off an entire bottle of wine - and she never does that!

Governing Body is requesting that anyone who hears of this/ reads it...should delete any emails and inform everyone that the statement you heard/read is NOT AUTHORIZED BY THE GOVERNING BODY..
The gb is requesting? Which still begs the question - What was the motivation of the bethel speaker if what he said was not part of the outline?
I was just contacted by a friend who informed me of the following: The Governing Body has NOT given its authorization to ANYONE to make the statement you heard/read.
Well then, that seals it for me. I'll always believe the anonymous friend who knows best. How do we know that this "friend" isn't a lurker on this site and noticed that we were making a big deal out of this and took it upon himself to speak on behalf of the gb even though he is simply a window washing mic handler?
People can say whatever they like in an email. But for now, I'll take the word of a bethel speaker over an anonymous "friend."

I used to use it quite a bit, but now my company has blocked it from being installed on our laptops. It's really no big deal, cuz my cell phone usage is free anyway. Every now and then I tinker with it on my home 'puter, but rarely use it.
I'm not going to completely drop it because I scored a great username - 'UNWIRE'
After Intel came out with their Centrino processors, I had a few people contact me asking if I would sell my nick. I had noticed that Intel used "unwire" in their URL on TV. http://www.intel.com/unwire Plus, being in wireless telco, I can't see myself giving up that name.

COLLEGE?!?!?!? for Me !!?!?
by purplesofa intoday i went to a community vo-tech school with a friend of mine....she needed to pick up her books.. the bookstore was buzzing with energy and i wound up buying 7 books.. i have thought about going to school for a long time.. anyway, i am going to start the process.......whatever that is.......to get some college courses.
not sure if i will go to this school, but i have made the decision to go!!!!!!!!!!!!.
don't have a clue what i will take i just know i want to go.. any advice ?

If you're not sure what you would like to obtain a degree in, just focus on getting the general ed classes out of the way first. Those are usually math and english and possibly critical writing classes. These classes will always be required for any degree. Just one word of caution if you plan on attending a different college in the future - make sure the math and english classes are high enough so that another college will accept them in a transfer. Usually a MAT125 or ENG120 class satisfies most degree programs.
If you're still not sure what you would like to obtain a degree in, how about a "general associates" degree? That would leave roughly 2 years of fulltime classes left in getting your BS or BA(BA sounds like your fit).

Society's claim of Matt. 24:14 being fulfilled - What it could really mean
by Jourles ini've had this thought for quite a while and wonder if fits with the recent talk about the wts claiming that matt.
24:14 has been fulfilled.
my thought was this --- in the wake of the recent cutbacks at bethel, scaling back of literature, and other cost cutting measures, could the wts be preparing the r&f for the complete or massive reduction of literature that would normally be placed with "householders?

However, what about pioneers? Gilead Missionaries? etc? These people would be completely screwed and literally have NOTHING left to do with their lives without their magazine peddling "careers". Imagine the fall-out from these people.
I believe we [the board] said the same thing about those who were let go from bethel. So far, no fallout yet. Just enthusiasm over being able to be redeployed to help in the field.

Heh, I know of at least two personally that have had breast augmentation done(increased size). There was a 30'ish blonde sister in the Silverthorne, CO hall back in the mid-90's that eventually moved to CA that had it done. My b-i-l's mother had it done...and she is in her late 50's!! And now I'm aware of a sister in the Little Rock, AR area(in my b-i-l's hall) that is planning to have it done(she's an A). My wife and her sister both want it done, but to go smaller.

by unbeliever ini read that david beckham is leaving real madrid and coming to the us to play for the la galaxy.
soccer is not that popular in the us and that is a obscene amount of money to pay a player and i am surprised that david beckham would want to finish out his career playing in the us.
i guess for $250 million anyone would.

the very first time the word "jehovah" or "watchtower" appeared in a negative light on your computer screen, were you casually surfing the web as a good little jw, or were you intentionally searching for an explanation over something you knew to be wrong in the organization?.

For me, I started visiting H2O back around 1996. I think I simply plugged in "jehovah" in a Netscape seach engine and viola! - there was H2O. I was an innocent bystander who got caught up in trying to defend the WTS. H2O seriously confused me at first. I was naive enough to think that real jw's were frequenting the board but had an axe to grind. It didn't take very long until names such as "Liberal Elder" and "Liberal EX-MS" caught my attention. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I got shot down time and time again. I then just lurked for a while. At the same time, I started to do my own research on things I couldn't defend. Reading Crisis of Conscience sealed the deal a few years later.
So which was it? Were you an innocent bystander or a deliberate dirt digger?
