Watchtower Propaganda
by JosephAlward inmany have argued that articles in awake!
in recent years show that watchtower was letting itself be told what do by the purple beast, namely, promote the united nations in its writings.
i can understand how many might quickly find support for this claim, for there are, indeed, many articles in awake!

Genesis Error: The Rainbow Covenant
by JosephAlward inafter the lord had drowned every living thing on the surface of the earth except noah and his family and the animals brought to the ark, he told noah that from that time forth there would be no more apocalyptic floods, and as a token of his good intentions the lord would create the rainbow:.
and god...spake unto noah, and to his sons with him, saying...i establish my covenant with you.... neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
and god said, this is the token of the covenant which i make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: i do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Matthew Makes Another Error
by JosephAlward inthe 1 chronicles author lists the descendents of david; some of these, in order, are jehoshaphat, jehoram, ahaziah, joash, amaziah, azariah, jotham, ahaz, hezekiah, manasseh (1 chronicles 3:10-13 niv).
the matthew author contradicts this genealogy; he leaves out the four consecutive descendents underlined above, and in their place puts uzziah, who he says is jehorams son.
(matthew 1:8-10 niv).

Another Bible Error: The Disciples' Journey
by JosephAlward inthe story about the instructions jesus allegedly gave to his disciples before they were to set out on their evangelizing journey illustrates the type of contradictions which are found in the gospel stories.
in their two accounts of this event, the authors of mark and matthew disagree about whether jesus wanted the disciples to carry a staff with them.
mark tells us jesus told the disciples to go forth with a staff:.

Revelation Teaches Jesus is God
by JosephAlward ini understand that jehovah's witnesses teach that jesus is not god, but the author of revelation seems to teach otherwise:.
yahweh speaking: "i am the alpha and the omega," says the lord god" (revelation 1:8).
more yahweh: "i am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

Does God Really Want to Save Everyone?"
by JosephAlward ina striking difference of opinion about gods attitude seems to have existed between the author of 1 timothy and the author of 2 thessalonians.
one thinks that god wants all men to be saved, but the other speaks of god deliberately deluding people in order to condemn them.
both pictures of god cannot be true, so there is a clear contradiction.

Do You Still Believe a God Cares for You?
by JosephAlward ini've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.
so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.

Bible Contradiction: Passing God's Test
by JosephAlward inthe bible contradicts itself in the matter of god's omniscience.
the author of deuteronomy says that god has to perform a test to learn if one of his chosen people love him: .
why would an all-knowing god have to perform a test to learn something?

Destruction of Families: A False Prophecy
by JosephAlward inthe author of the matthew gospel was by far the most unreliable of the bibles writers, as evidenced by his appalling lack of understanding of the old testament and his willingness to imagine that it was filled with prophecies of the coming savior.. he was wrong about jesus triumphant ride into jerusalem, about jesus being born of a virgin, about his being born in bethlehem, about being called a nazarene, about herod ordering the slaughter of the innocent children after jesus birth, about judas thirty pieces of silver, and many other events in the life of jesus because he evidently completely misunderstood or misrepresented stories in the old testament.
readers dont have to take my word for it.
the evidence is on display in the articles in the false prophecy section of the directory at the web site at .
