Christ's 'silence' on slavery.
by tec inone of the accusations against christ that some people make to me from time to time is that christ never spoke out against slavery, and so he must condone it.. i would submit that slavery (the forcible enslaving of your fellow man)... is not the root problem.
it is merely a symptom of the root problem.
christ came to deal with the root.

For Jesus to argument against slavery in his day would have been the equivelent of him arguing against the right for employers to hire employees. It was a part of the culture and the system. Democracy, self-determination were not much talked about or acted upon concepts untill people invented things like books, schools, light bulbs, and the steel plow, giving them more time to ponder upon their lot in life. One would have lasted about 10 seconds if they started spouting of PC non-sense about "human rights" even if anyone would have bothered to stop trying to earn enough food to eat to listen.
It's ridiculous to hold that against Jesus.

Nope you're not crazy. That is a pretty reasonable rationalization for 8. I probably thought similar thoughts about my favorite "worldly" relatives. One more reason why this religion is not fit for any one under 30.

The VAT- please explain all about that tax to us in the USA
by moshe ini am expecting a vat tax to become the solution to raise revenue in the usa- all the talk from both romney and obama has been holding the line on tax income tax rates-- so everyone will be blindsided by a vat tax..

As a small business owner, don't forget the addition cost to the small business owner. My most valuable commodity is time. I value time over money, talent, staff, resources, and even sex.

Translation: If you find yourself becoming attracted to someone outside the cult, please tell on yourself ASAP so the Elder's can either mark you as bad association or try and manipulate you into staying in the cult.
Thank you that is all....please don't forget Sunday field service will meet 15 minutes after the WT study is over.

I always enjoyed Eric's (OOPMA's) posts. I thought he was witty and cheerful. I am sorry he made this choice. I hope he finds some peace.

Rules in the New System
by King Solomon inok, so even if laws are to be written on people's hearts vs spelled out into lawbooks, there's going to have to be some laws in the new system of things, right?
i say we get the ball rolling and brainstorm what they should be: after all, none of us got invited to the party anyway but since there just ain't going to be any party, why let that spoil our fun?
so, the theme is laws to be in effect in the new system.

Due to an unexpected glut of bored resurrected people with no family and sexually frustrated brothers and sisters that did not marry before armageddon. The GB makes a surprising shift in doctrine and no longer considers oral sex a df'ing offense. Oral only is mentioned because the resurrected have no sexual organs of course.
Heavy petting, mutual masturbation, groping, holding hands or possesing sheep is still forbidden.
