I congratulate those that have left the JW religion and are free to be themselves.

Most JW's are Concerned with Position/Appearance - Not Serving God
by flipper inbeing raised in the jehovah's witnesses for 44 years ( exited 7 years ago ) - i observed many different variables that made each witness tick or operate.
but one of the most common variables was witnesses wanting to excel in progressing to positions becoming elders, ministerial servants, or pioneers because then and only then would they be looked at as allegedly " spiritual " or closer to jehovah.
but i learned as years went by that having a " position " in the congregation didn't make a person anymore " spiritual " or closer to god than witnesses who were not in appointed positions.. myself- having been appointed a ministerial servant at the tender baby age of 20 yrs.

Among the many things that made me doubt the validity of the organization, was the attitude of those with “privileges”. Elders and MS were supposed to “serve” the congregation, but it was the other way around, to their eyes, they were above the congregation and the congregation was there to obey and fallow their commands, in other words, the servants became the masters. That’s how it works in the JW’s world, and those sincere men that really want to serve get burned, chewed up and drained.
Positions have always been a measuring stick of one’s spirituality. I’ve noticed that posturing spirituality by attaining positions and so called “privileges”, is becoming more relevant than being a good spiritual Christian.
There are many James and John in the Watchtower Organization….
Matthew 20:20-21; 24-27.
20 Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor. 21 “What is your request?” he asked. She replied, “In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you , one on your right and the other on your left.”…..
24 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. 25 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
P.S. Jedi...my wife and I always joke about that comment. In another meeting, a sister said that she carefully examines what her friends in the “thruth” are doing for the organization, so to determine whether they are and continue to be “good association” for her. You know…she wants be encouraged to keep serving in her full time ministry.

When I stepped aside (YEAH!!!!!), an Elder asked me if my wife was going to be ok with me no longer being an elder. His tone basically was…will she be disappointed at YOU because YOU are not an Elder? My response was…she’s ok, she knows I need to take a break. The look on his face was classic.
In the name of redundancy…I’ve never been happier a regular, lowly publisher. Imagine how great it will be once I’m finally an inactive publisher or a fader.
Onemore (comes from, “one more” publisher, “one more” of the bunch…a brother in my hall once made a comment in a WT study, where he referred to brothers and sisters with no “privileges” as the “one more”, in Spanish… los “uno mas”)

is this true in view of the gb claims

The JW’s leader is a faceless group of “demigods” that hide behind an ivory tower, using God as a façade (I just wanted to say that).
But human have always lead the JW and humans always will…no matter what they say. 80 to 95% of JWs are followers of man.

This is my story
by XPeterX inborn in.20 years old.only mom is in the truth.i have 2 sisters the one studies occasionally.dad agrees with jw stuff but won't join.i am unbaptised publisher since i was 12,i used to read from the bible and comment but not anymore since february.i seldom miss meetings and go door to door often (well not as often as i should).few or none will call me out of the 125 persons of my congregation and i can't say i know them at all (except 2 persons) even though i 'know' them since 1998.i try to stick to the rule "no wordly friends" but when it comes to friendships in the jw world i end up alone.i honestly know that this situation is encountered by many teens in the org.
globally.maybe that's what jesus said about the absence of love in the last days..

I'm basically still in... But debating on whether I’ll be better off leaving the Borg completely or sticking around to make my loved ones life’s a little easier (you know...socially).
but I can't take the lies, but mainly the authoritarian attitude, (in all honesty, I don’t care if they keep 607, 1914 and the GB…as long as they let us live our lives and exercise our free will).
If the GB were to: the Blood issue a conscience matter, don’t dissfellowship people for disagreeing with the GB, stop demonizing “higher education”, put an end to the shunning policy, and let the bro/sis handle “pedophilia cases” in accordance to the law of the land.
I’ll see no need for ME to drop out of the Borg.
If keeping my family together will require to hand in a “time report”, I won’t mind reporting 1 to 5 hrs a month of field circus.
If keeping my family together will require to go to the meetings, I won’t mind going every Sunday to the KH and “read” a response from the WT study.
After all...is all about Appearances....

JWs District Convention 2010 Drawn Closer to Jehovah. My reflections
by onemore inseptember will mark my first year out of the watch towers darkness (pun intended).
i embarked on my full blown search for truth about the truth in april 2009, and by september of that same year i was convinced the organization was no different than any other religion; but i was wrong again.
because if there were like any other christian denomination, such as the baptists, methodists, presbyterians, lutherans, etc...it would have been a lot easier to endure sitting in their meetings, listening to their rhetoric, and engaging in some of their activities.

On the drama…
The main character’s wife (I think her name was Sarahi) had a brother whom she “loved dearly” (she said it in the drama). She explained to him that there was nothing worth fighting for in Jerusalem, to come with her and join her Christian community, she was lecturing him and he said to her “am I not a moral person too?” (something like that). As the drama reached its climax, she asked about her brother and got exited to hear news from him (one of the character went to Pella from Jerusalem), but when she heard bad news about him, she soon switched to something like, “oh well…he got screwed because he didn’t listen to me”, life goes on…
In one of the monologues, the person mentioned how her worldly family claims that she doesn’t love them, how they want her to party, “drink” go to school, etc. but she soon snap into her senses…and realized that she needed to cut off her association with her non-JW family and tell them not to insist.
During the last talk, I decided to go to the back of the auditorium to see how many people were paying attention. The speaker, at one point emphatically said something like this… “This world has no future, WE have a bright future, THEY will ALL be destroyed and WE will be the sole survivors in paradise”. EVERY BODY WAS CLAPPING. At that moment…(I feel teary right now) as I looked at the audience clapping after that statement..I thought to myself…. GOD… they are clapping for the death of my parents, work mates, the preacher next door, the police officers that keep us safe, teachers, etc…all because they are not JW’s. How much different is this from Natzy speech? “THEY all deserve to die, because they are not with US”.
If you go, please pay attention, listen to the message, aside from the usual, part of it is…loyalty to the organization above loyalty to family and/or JW friends that are doubting and/or leaving (left) the organization.
I hope that my enduring these three days will benefit some of you. Please be careful on how you talk to your JW family and friends. They are stepping up the “isolation” factor.
People are asking questions, people are leaving, people are talking…they know it, so they (GB) are “stepping up to the plate”.

D.S
I’m in the “they are not a destructive cult” camp. But in all honesty, it’s becoming very hard to support that statement, specially now…it’s too obvious, they are not even embarrassed by it. I’m reconsidering my opinion on the JW religion (cult).
P.P
Any history book on the subject says that prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 c.e that the Christians and the Jews met in the same synagogues, that Jews saw Christians as any other sect like the Sadducees and the Pharisees (even though they gave christians a hard time). In Jerusalem, many (if not all) Christian Jews still observed the law, but it was not until after the destruction of Jerusalem that the Christian cut all ties with Judaism. But yet, the WT manage to make it seems as if the Christian were “separate” from the entire Jewish community and wanted nothing to do with their non-christian jewish relatives…because, of course, they were not christians.
Blondie
On the generation WT study the speaker said that, “obviously Jesus was talking about the TWO overlapping generation when he talked about the generation.” He said it just like that, no lie.
