hi everybody.. well, i've been lurking for a few weeks & have made a few posts, so it's time to bravely introduce myself some more.... i was raised in the religion, baptized & then df'd in 1992. i live in sydney and youll be pleased to hear i have survived armageddon (also known as the hottest day on record for sydney 45.6c).. ive never looked at any witness related stuff online, but my son showed me something about the conti case and i was so intrigued!!!!
following links led me to this & other websites..... since then i have spent literally hours on the internet discovering all this information.
so many late nights/early mornings.

it has been a long time since i was on here and life has gone many different ways since then.
been married and getting divorced, and now have a son.
life has not been kind to me since i have left the org.
I'm glad the collection of your stuff is all done and your attitude now is starting to sound much more positive. Cool about the drumming too!

do you prefer regular brew or the fancy offerings?
can you drink it -- the leaded stuff -- any time, night or day?.
no survey here, just curious.
Hello CoCo, hope you're well? ....anyway, no I can only drink Decaff. More than 2 cups of normal and I get really twitchy, like really unwell.

hi guys and gals.
i hope you're all enjoying your lives, whatever path you have chosen.. i have a question for anyone who is currently re-instated, has previously been re-instated, or knows and is still in contact with a re-instated one.. my question is this:.
is the main reason for getting re-instated:.
Hello IML If I think about those I've known who've been reinstated, I couldn't say that any of them have been motivated by your No 1. Disfellowshipping damages trust completely, and prompts some searching for the legitimacy of the WTBS. Research opens up the fact that they are a false religion. The power of your No 2 can help many to close their eyes to the truth about the 'truth'.

i feel i must preface this with context so as to make the intention understandable: .
to jehovah's witnesses and their apologists, that goal is destruction of truth and the downfall of jehovah's witnesses.
but that's not our goal.
Many/most here focus on the realistic futility of bringing down the WTBS. I believe it will be done someday, but probably by Jah, our Heavenly Father. He has the power, it will be a momentus day. He won't fail, unlike us, who probably have no idea really what we're up against.

I used to have high hopes that we could make a difference but sorry to say, they are too powerful with their brainwashing techniques to access large numbers to opt out. I wish we could though. I applaud your intentions.

i have a question.
to most of you, this will seem elementary, and you'd think that after twenty months or so on this forum i'd know the answer, but i don't.
in this thread.
Good thread Char. I believe someone/some people must be benefitting. The failure to bring down the WTBS has been the lack of insight as to WHO/WHY? I don't know to be honest, but I'm pretty sure that money is behind it all somewhere, somehow. It's very clever though, too clever.

folks here all have one thing in common: they are somehow associated with jws, either were one, are married to one, have a relative who is one, has a romantic interest in one, are are currently one.
perhaps you are not one, but something about jws bugs you enough to have found this forum, and read it and contribute to it.
what brought you here?
I was in pain. Still quietly trying to recover from the WTBS, I joined a site and many there spoke about this site. I looked for it and joined. It was scary, but I had nothing lesft to lose. Probably one of the better decisions I ever made.

Hi, like you said things changed after her trip away to Chicago, so, did she meet someone else, or get a new taste for freedom? I think it's true that her actions are speaking louder than her words, she should have had the courage to tell you that her feelings have changed, it would've been fairer to you. Sadly words are cheap, and actually meaningless, unless there are actions that match them.
You now need to build up your self esteem again because its taken a battering to some extent. Speak frankly to the lady about how you're feeling and be clear that you deserve better, because you really do. Then take steps and be proactive about meeting and making new friends. Not all with the goal of romance either, find out what you can get involved in within your community for a start. If you start dating again don't pin all your hopes for a big future until enough time has passed so that you're both sure. Make it a goal to LIKE a person, their values, their hopes, their traits etc before you think about loving.
Its time that you see yourself as someone valuable, and until you do it's unlikely that others will value you either, because they'll pick up on your poor estimation of yourself. Maybe you need some counselling following the experience of the WTBS? That could help you to regain a sense of your own value. I wish you luck, stick around and update us, the support will surely help you.
