Believe me I know how you feel I didn't want to play their games either but I just knew if I didn't put in a form that they could not question it would not be over for me. I hate this legalize crap as much as the next person but that's about all they understand. Also when one sends in a DA letter it is shown and discussed with the entire elder body then a copy is sent to Brooklyn that's just how these warped people think...It's been 6 years for me and I know that they will never try to contact me again...

Today I seized the day...and disassociated myself
by carpediem inand i feel good!
it was a long time coming.
i stopped going to meetings june 09. the reason i left it so long is because my husband is still in and for this reason i see witnesses from time to time.

I really didn't mean to say it is a problem just that they may not accept it as actually from her and still try to contact her...that's all.

The only problem I see is you sent it in an email. You may not want to get into the legalize of it but it is not a legal document and they might not accept it. As they see it anyone could have had access to your email account and sent it and they may not know it was actually you that sent it. When I sent my DA letter it sent it registered mail to our PO. As legal as it comes no questions asked. I agree when it was time for me to leave I was just going to fade but I wanted to cut it completely off...

You all think your jobs suck try going to work Monday 6am and getting home Friday midnight then starting again the next monday. Drive 2800 miles all hours of the day and night work around others schedules because you are there for them. Sleep deprivation, sitting waiting then drive like hell...if this is your idea of a dream job then get your CDL and drive a truck...

Which do you prefer?
by keyser soze inwhen it comes to weather, would you rather have a wind chill below zero, or a heat index over 100?
it's the hottest week of the summer here.
i have to confess, i handle the cold much better than the heat.

At least in the summer I can crank up the AC I keep mine at 69 degrees but thanks to cheap TVA hydroelectric power it's cheaper than the rest of the country...

Long Distance Adultery and Other Issues
by buddhaisbetter inallow me a moment to introduce myself: first of all, i am not a member of your faith as surely can be garnered from my choice of user name.
i joined this forum with the intention of getting some information on a situation i'm forced to contend with that concerns my son.
my questions are not designed to bash your beliefs, regardless of my personally held opinions and i hope that any discussion can be conducted without contention.

Welcome Buddaasibetter. I was a JW for 28 years. When I was young and single I had a close JW friend her husband not a JW she had 2 young sons. Now mind you it was friendship ONLY with no appearance of anything else and there was none. One afternoon she asked if I wanted to go go the movies to see "Fantasia" with her 2 young sons. I said why not. We went saw the movie and that was it. It got back to the elders and they convened a Judicial Committee (think Star Chamber) claiming I was dating her and trying to break up her marriage. So I find it hard to believe the elders told her she could continue to text him as long as her husband knew about it...

New light what is it...cos I'm confused??
by Fractured~Mind inok this is the biggest problem i have ...well one of...and that's the governing body's stance on "new light".
to me its like a dimmer light , whatever subject you have the light on, starting with the lowest setting you can make out the basics.
when the dial is turned up slowly to the brightest setting, you then have the whole, complete,picture...but you don't have a whole new subject matter in front of you.. so i can understand them starting with the basics then later on slowly revealing more and more as it is revealed to them...but i dont understand starting with one idea and completely changing that idea over and over again.. and if the light is not that bright on a subject, isnt it common sense to keep your big trap shut until your sure or the light is brighter, so you don't stumble millions of people in the process??.

It's just a way not to admit they are ever wrong with "New Light" they are never wrong...
