I got past the whole "If the JW's don't have the truth, then who does?" excuse for not having the balls to leave when I decided that it didn't matter whether I ever found a religion that taught the truth.
It was enough for me to know and just accept that they do not have the truth. Not ever knowing the truth was far better than believing lies and fairytales.

i'm curious about what made you realize that your ex-religion was not "true"?.
i've had discussions with many religious people, and they're always trying to protect their beliefs, rather than allowing anything i say challenge what they believe.
was there ever something someone said to you, or something you read that maybe made you doubt your beliefs for the first time, or had a similar effect?.
This might sound like an oversimplification, but I let the definition of the word "truth" sink in. Then I held JW's, the Governing Body, and the WTBTS up to that standard. It allowed me to question without fear of consequences. Once you start questioning, the momentum starts to build and the answers come fast and readily. 7.2 JW's claim to have "the truth", but they cannot tell the truth even about "the truth", that is, their beliefs and practices. I made "the truth" my own until I let the truth became known to me. Now, the truth belongs to me, and I get to own every JW who dares knock at my door

LOL, perhaps it's just the language barrier, but let me put it this way . . .
My favorite definition of philosophy is: the rational investigation of questions about existence and knowledge and ethics.
Philosophy was originally developed as a means by which men could free themselves and their minds of fear and the superstition and mysticism employed by the ruling classes to dominate and control the masses. Real philosophy is not built on acceptance of belief in God, but it gives people a unified view of the universe and endeavors to make them critical thinkers. It was developed to liberate mankind from the fear and worship of non-existent impotent deities, none of which actually ever existed, including Yahweh. A huge part of this false belief system has to do with the baseless belief in everlasting life and whatever other form of immortality that was created and dangled before the eyes of irrational weak-minded men.
Just as nobody has actually ever seen a time and space travelling unicorn with a rainbow tail, nobody has ever lived forever. There is no evidence of such possibilities. It is a made up bedtime story. Your masters dangle the false belief of everlasting life in front of you; if you will just submit to their rule and authority while on this earth, pay them taxes, and fill their coffers with the fruits of your labor and the sweat of your brow, you will one day have everlasting life . . . a disgusting lie.

Everlasting life is a myth. A Hoax. A bedtime story.
There is absolutely no historical precedent, no evidence, no justification for such a belief.
It's like saying, "Nobody has ever seen a unicorn with a rainbow tail flying through time and the vacuum of space, but I believe space and time travelling unicorns exist. I believe it's possible, and if you don't believe it's possible, you just don't have the ability to think . . . "
Well, what I THINK is that without empirical evidence of the existence of anything, belief in such a thing is simply the product of imagination and delusion, not deep sound thought and reasoning.

today i can not think of one single event.
I believe that the WTBTS is just another tool of the wealthy, of those who actually run the corporate-owned governments. The WTBTS accuses them of being a massive conspiracy against God's Kingdom, has actually predicted all along how world events would basically shape up, not because they are prophets, but because they have an inside track as to how things are going to go down. They already knew the basic blue print of what governments were moving toward by events set in motion decades ago. We are talking economically, the inflation of fiat currency, the implosion of our economy, the downfall of organized religion, wars, the UN, etc.. Their predictions, some of which have come to pass, are designed to give credibility to their position as the wise and faithful slave. But, they're just shoddy amateur fortune tellers who have gone through somebody's garbage to get information about a person's life with which to defraud them.
Nothing could happen in this world that would make me run back to the organization.
