My review of 2011 - the mad, the obscure, the outrageous, the terrible...
by cedars in2011 is a special landmark year in my life, because it is the year when i finally said "enough is enough" and awakened from my increasingly passive role within the jw faith.
coincidentally, this was also the year in which the governing body "ramped up" its rhetoric to ever more dizzying heights of arrogance, hatred, and absurdity.
whether 2011 subsequently goes down in the history of the watch tower society as being a true turning point in its downfall remains to be seen.

Cedars you are the man!
Thansk for all of your work on these topics bringing attention to the bizarre and conflicting teachings of the Society. Here is wishing to 2012 being the year that the Society gets their ass handed to them in courts, in the media, and in the minds of the flock.

These poor children. I hope that the media picks up on this story. Witnesses love to say how they are nothing like the Catholics. Wrong! there is no difference between the religions when it comes to this problem.

is there a time range?.

It depends on how busy/ lazy they are. I have seen it take 3 months from the time the letter was received to the time they met with the person requesting reinstatement. Siam

"Feeling sorry for yourself" about being hit by your husband is not Christian 2/15/12 WT Page 25 P 12
by yourmomma inhave anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

Funny that this was bumped today.
I asked my wife last night what she would do if I ever hit her? (I won't ever do this and hate people who are abusers).
She replied that she would walk out the door never to return. I agreed that was probably the appropriate response. I am going to let a couple of days go by and then mention this study article and see what her reaction is. If I am correct she will be disgusted. It is incredible that the organization puts the blame for the violence on the victim and uses pressure to compel the victim to stay in an abusive relationship.
Watchtower- you are cutting your own throat.

The WT and GB have No Sense of Urgency Today According to this Paragraph
by LostGeneration infrom the march 15, 2012 wt, pg 17 para 10. today there are better ways to reach not millions, but billions including those in china, india, and arabic countries where they don't even know the name jehovah.
i guess stockpiling billions in cash and property are more important than spreading the "urgent message" hypocrites!.

I agree. If there was actual urgency the GB would be acting ala Harold Camping. If you are a lurker please take note of how the Organization will pay lip service to the urgency of the message, but their methods of spreading the life saving message are less than urgent.

Do You Agree That Being A JW=Never Growing To Your Full Potential?
by minimus insoooo many witnesses that i knew of had great potential to be somebody, to do something in their lives and instead, they simply existed in a way of life that never really ever gave them back anything in return.

I was watching football last night, when an Elder dropped by. He pointed to the football game and mentioned the Watchtower studied yesterday, and encouraged me to re-evaulate my choices. This is from the same guy I was in a Fantasy league with. I came unglued.
I told him that the two examples mentioned in the article for acceptable recreation was "reading a book and bicycling to sightsee" and were the lamest forms of recreation I could imagine. I then asked if hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball, nascar, and the olympics was now off limits for "true Christians?" All are violent, with risks and have extreme competition. Is every sort of competitive team sport now off limits?
My standard answer now when people ask what I do for fun.... "Read my bible"
He got the point quickly that I thought the Watchtower study was a bunch of crap.
