Back again

been absent for more than 10 years as i have had surgery sand radiation etc for brain tumour.

was in icu for 6 months and lost hearing in one ear, most of sight and physical disabilities.

was a member then just before simon emigrated to us, he had lived quite near me in uk.

You won't know me either, but I can empathise to some extent as a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year. He's had a gamma knife operation and we're still waiting to see if this has been successful. It's affected his hearing and eyesight and we don't know how that's going to go...

Fortunately my friend is not involved with JW land so does not have that side to deal with, but it must have been horrible for you to have something like this compounded by your 'so called friends' not coming to visit. It really does show doesn't it?

I thought your story about your swearing at your granddaughter was funny :)

Plans for huge Jehovah's HQ take shape

its going to be a real beautiful place when its finished.. they are going for quality over quantity.

it used to be accommodation for a few thousand permanent residents, now its looking like less than a thousand permanent with the possibility of a few thousand more in temporary accommodation should the need arise.. some say the plans are going to be like a garden of eden in england :) i mean they had farming in london over the years but this is going to be epic what they are planning for temple farm at chelmsford.. they are planting thousands (literally) of fruit trees, including tropical fruits in huge green houses, huge vines yards and then the same basic farming activities as before.

...you will be recorded and given an electronic badge which you have to keep with you at all times. Each badge has a locator on it and everybody will be tracked 100% of the time, if anybody is found without the locator badge there will be an investigation and all activities will be recorded by the hundreds of high end HD cameras everywhere.

i did some reverse domain lookups to see what web domains were linked to watchtower.

i did reverse lookups on the hostmaster address, building address, and phone number.

i've sorted and deduplicated the results.. bethelres.org.

The 2016 domain name indicates that these year-based domain names are for information about special conventions in the given year.

Yes, I saw that after I'd posted it and the icon changed colour. It does suggest they are expecting to be holding conventions in 2020.

Who would be running the internet then though? ;)

I can understand all the JW related domains, but it was the lab, project, research domains that particularly caught my eye - wondering what they might be planning (if anything).

There's a few of what appear to be personal websites, perhaps registered by the hostmaster as a favour.

And there's some odd looking domains that at present don't go anywhere but which could be worth keeping an eye on in future.

Perhaps someone can make meaning of some of these?

been catching up on some jw reading and found a gem in the november study wt in the first article, paragraph #11:.

yet, you might look beyond the obvious and ask yourself, does my child enjoy the ministry or only the breaks?

if you discern that the ministry could be more interesting or more rewarding for your children, set goals with them.

recently my 'in' hubby did some work for another jw.

there was need for me to communicate with them and i used facebook to do so.

it was amusing to find the blue jwfacts.com logo on their page instead of the jw official logo!

suggestions for a bird lover

i want to know id anyone has an inexpensive easy way for me to install some sort of sound system so i can hear the outside birds in my house in winter.

i have to doors closed its like 30 degrees outside, i stepped out to toss some bread crumbs and heard so many birds outside, and i would love to hear those birds in my kitchen while i eat.

would a cheap baby monitor work ?
