I guess John would have been disqualified from writing Revelation based on these new discriminatory rules that the WT is now embracing!

Who Will Be The Next Governing Body Member To Defect Like Raymond Franz? I Think Samuel Herd Might Be A Prospect.
by frankiespeakin innot really, it could anyone of those guys who shows a sign of humaness/compassion and regret and go on exposing them all to the media worse than ray franz ever could have.
yes i know this may be wishful thinking/computing on my part but i feel it is a harmless indugence or may be it is just my deep unconscious foretelling a likely scenerio.. and it is good to create a distrust among these guys each one trying to beat the other to jump ship because thier unconscious is giving them fits to get the hell out when the getting is good.
maybe even report their fellow gbs to the authorities to be granted clemency or something.

The problem for any of these guys is whether they will have any way to support themselves if they stop sucking off of mothers teat...
I guess they could write a book, like Ray did, but how much would they really make off of that.
Unless they have rich family that will take them in, they would be stuck in the poor house, not a welcome prospect once you are used to living the high life as a cult leader.

LOL...really?
Nice of them to allow the poor sap who has been stressed to the max to 'retire' at 80..
I'm sure they will still let him sit on JCs and send him out for public talks though...

Its the scripture in Proverbs about the path of the righteous one is like a lamp that gets brighter.
Of course a careful reading indicates it would apply to a person searching for righteousness, not a God appointed organization that has to flip flop on prophecies they have made because they were completely wrong.

Scriptural Basis for Obedience to GB?
by mrhhome ini have a genuine question for the jw apologist.
.
what is your scriptural justification for your unquestioning obedience to the governing body and your unwillingness to question their intepretation of scripture?.
-
LostGeneration
mrhhome, JWs will argue that the GB/FDS was appointed by Jesus based on Matthew 24:45-47.
If you can get a JW to question whether this scripture really appoints an organization to do Jesus' bidding, you can knock down the whole house of cards.
A great essay on the subject from Peter Gregerson:

In Reading Over My DA Letter Of 9 Years Ago, This morning...
by Littleleslie inthis morning after coffee, in reading over my da letter from jehovah's witnesses which i posted publicly on the net, (june 2nd, 2005 exactly nine [9] years this day), i noticed something interesting, something that i said about the "wine of her fornication" [rev.
14:8; 17:2; 18:3] that could be given even greater attention to today, more so than when i wrote about it back then.
i wrote in my da letter:.

The FDS as a group
by scary21 inif the governing body is only the fds in a group, does that mean the ( real ) fds only came about in the 70's when they started governing?
( as a group).
before that it was a one man rule, not a group.

Another Totalitarian Analogy
by metatron ini've spoken privately with some witnesses over the past couple weeks and it caused me to think about an analogy.
i turn to totalitarian examples because that's the basic structure of the 'truth'.. as nazi germany encountered defeat, several things happened.
some higher ups sought to escape into surrender in the west because they realized defeat was inevitable.

These comparisons to a nation like Nazi Germany or N. Korea are a false analogy.
The WTS doesn't have to control a geographic population, many of whom would be independent thinkers.
They cater to dependent thinkers, people who want their thinking done for them. Probably 30% of the population falls into this category, which of course means that 70% leave the cult when they become adults. The other 30% stay because its comfortable to have someone else tell them what to do on most days of the week.
This cult is 140 years old. Its not going anywhere.
