so my sister and i are flying across the pond to stay in london for christmas and new year's.

I just found out that the tube isn't running on the 25th so I guess I'll be doing the Heathrow Express to Paddington and then taking a cab to Lambeth....unless there are any other suggestions (she asked hopefully...)?

lgadsden, I can only speak for myself and I’m sure that you will have many others responding to your question so get ready. I went through a very tough time a few years ago and moved to another city where I only attended a few meetings. I was in a very bad state emotionally and after a year and a half of being inactive and non-existent in the congregation with zero contact from any elder trying to help or even find out anything about me, I was summoned to a judicial committee and disfellowshipped despite begging for help. Once that happened, I will admit that I had very bitter feelings toward this elder body and that prompted a real examination of what you refer to as ‘the truth’. What I learned shocked me to my core. I could not believe that the Watch Tower organization had joined the UN, repeatedly misquoted sources in their literature and shielded child abusers from legal prosecution. I could go on and on but my point is that if a religion is to be referred to as ‘the truth’ they have a responsibility to tell the truth at all times. Please do yourself a favor and do some research on your ‘truths’. I know that you will resist this because you are told to only read Watch Tower publications, but please remember the Bereans and how they were commended in the scriptures for examining the disciples words and not taking anything at face value. I’m sure that you tell people in the territory to examine their religion and I would encourage you to do the same. You owe it to yourself and seem very sincere so please please please take the time to do so.
ok, another topic on the subject of london and mention of the natural history museum reminded me of a kingdom hall coach-trip outing with my then future-wife's congregation.. on the way down one of the elders had put together some "biblical quiz word-search" to test our theocratic knowledge (oh god, really?).
he'd printed questions sheets and everything.
yes, he was a complete penis-elder who took it on himself to chaperone all the courting couples in the hotel foyer.. so, after pretty much scribbling lines all over the page i then proceeded to outright lie and put my hand up when the question "did anyone find all 30 bible characters?

I've been researching and the museums are a definite must, I agree. Simon, I'll be on the watch for anyone with a vacant expression wearing a suit; llbh, that exhibition looks very cool; and Sam the Barbican looks awesome. Poopsie's getting excited!!!!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what we can do on the cheap...I'd also love to hear from locals about their favorite places.
I was also curious if anyone has ever gone to Roxy Bar and Screen? Seems very cool but a first hand review would be helpful. I'm really looking forward to strolling the Carnaby Street area to see the lights displays and we'll probably hit the usual museums.
