  Hi silentone,

  I have some amazingly good memories - my social circle was huge, varied and there always seemed to be something going on...lots of laughing, drinking and tons of activities. I cherish those memories. Since I've left, my social circle is very small but I have a core of friends who are true quality people and I've learned that quality far surpasses quantity. It's interesting that my good memories were never about worship - I looked forward to assemblies because there was always a social quotient and meetings were a way of seeing my friends. Weird in retrospect because I always thought I was such a good little witness!

  what was the reaction to princess Di's death in your cong?

  i know it was over ten years but it occured today that it was the first time i was shocked by the reaction of the the dubs.

  the general opinion seemed to be that yes it was "sad" ... but actauly it was very good news that she had been killed now, because that meant that she would get a resserection!

  and of course seeing that she had led such an immoral life, she would never have survived armargeddon had she lived!.

  Holy cow, Hamster!! A 2 minute silence at a circuit assembly for a non-JW??? I'm gobsmacked....I've never even heard of that being done when a member of the GB dies. That's freaky!!

  In my hall, most of us were saddened – I was devastated. The PO said something that set me off though. He said that he couldn’t understand all of the fuss over an ‘adulteress’ along with a few other unsavory comments. I lost it on him (we were good friends so I was comfortable being lippy). I looked him in the eye and said that I had never thought he, of all people, could be so insensitive; she was a human being just like all of us – not perfect but doing her best to be a caring individual who used her time to help others and that I was very sad at the thought of a young mother dying, no matter how famous she was. He looked ashamed and I never heard another negative thing from him about Diana from that day on.
  On the day of the funeral I stayed home to watch (and cry), my husband went out in service but I think that was more to leave me alone. I have no idea how many went out – I never asked, never cared; I was doing what was important to me which had nothing to do with knocking on doors.

  I really like IFC, I just wish it was available in hi-def.
  Every time they show Se7en I have to watch it - it's like a compulsion...and where else can you watch Danny Deckchair? At least where I live...
