when i was a busy little pie-in-ear we had a local apostate who would come and pretend to be interested.
he always attacked russell and rutherford and the early organization.
(this was in the late 80's early 90's) after he left, the young brother with me said, "these apostates always attack the imperfect organization but never can show anything from the bible.
Never talked to anyone while in.... never baptised. I left as soon I could, but just knew I would never be a "good little JW" and felt that the end was so soon I would see what the world was like. 1975 came and went, I started to read bible history from a non JW standpoint.
I married, had a family, etc. My JW family would talk about changes and I wondered what else was changing.
Computers came in the 1990s and then search engines.... *I could find out what else was happening! Read Crisis of Conscience and no more guilt.
my birthday isn't until the end of july but yesterday i got my first birthday gift in the mail.
my best friend (stubborn disbeliever) sent me my gift early.
i know what it is, but seeing it all wrapped up and knowing on my birthday i can open it...it really struck a cord with me.
Happy Birthday! Just remember, no beheadings!
i've noticed a few posts where bad language is used when it is completely unecessary and detracts from the message.. please consider what your choice of words will have on other people who read the forum before you post them, especially for regular posts that are not in the adult section.. there is a time and place for anger and expletives but most regular topics are 'not it'..
Wizard, I really wish we had a like button!
Lurkers are less likely to be scared away they are already nervous about being on the evil internet.
i guess i'm new here.
born in and an ms. things just hasn't been making sense the more i think about it.
i'm starting to get suspicious.
Like all the posters above said, remember that Armagedon is not coming soon! Read and study whatever makes you scratch your head. Take your time! You have all the time in the world.
Welcome to the rest of your life!
i have collected sayings, homilies, whatever along the way that crystallize something bigger i learned.
i will post a few every day.
if you have one, please share it.. if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas.. to belittle is to be little.. somewhere, i got the idea if i just took care of others, i would be taken care of.. blondie

Many community colleges have culinary arts classes... meant to educate cooks and restaurant staff for the local eaterys. In my town there is a small sit down restaurant in the college. They serve about 10 tables (white tablecloth and flowers). Love the meals, but it can be a long wait, everything has to pass inspection by the chef and it is delish.
Last week they had surf & turf. It was finals for the students. The students learn a lot. Our complete meal for two was under $22.00.
