  Voting for the first time!!

  i'm 45 years old and i was raised as a jw.

  i left the "truth" two years ago, but i am not disfellowshipped.

  any of you ever voted being an active jw?

  Congrats! This will be my first voting experience as well after having faded a couple of years ago. LV101 is right - not having had the option before, I really appreciate being able to participate.

  Our First Halloween

  (i grew up in the "truth".

  ) very risky, considering we are still active in the cong..... so we started at the first house and methodically walked up and down each driveway as worked along the street.. we were quickly over-taken by kids who were zig-zagging across lawns and doing houses in random order.

  suddenly, it dawned on me.

  Loyalty Questions in Judicial Hearings

  i've seen several posts on various threads about a particular "loyalty question" or two that elders ask during judicial hearings.

  granted it's been several years since i was an elder, but i never heard of this practice.

  is there anything officially in print on this from the wt?

  00DAD, this question came up at a non-JC meeting with two elders after I expressed doubts and before my fade. Interstingly, it looked as though the COBE had some printed material that he was getting his questions from. Perhaps he was only looking at his own notes, I don't know. The question was along the lines of, "Do you feel that JWs are the true religion", or perhaps "Do you feel that Jehovah is using this organization to teach the truth". Something like that, I can't remember the exact wording.

  I remarked that it was a loaded question, and he agreed.

  Sorry that I can't provide more insight.
