just got back from memorial.
only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!
it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.
Well, they're about 15 minutes into it right now in my area.
I celebrated this night by taking the kids on a walk in the rain and jumping in every single puddle with them. Then we dried off, had some dinner... they are all snug reading books together and we are all having a very nice evening. A little later I will watch some ganster movies and drink Wild Turkey with Mrs. Zoiks.
i sat in the car with some trepidation and minor nerves and walked the 200 yards to the k/h on this damp dreary night.
i was a bit early and was greeted pleasantly by a hall attendant who shook my hand an asked my name, as i walked inside to my surprise i recognized 3 of the brethren, one was a guy who was a reasonably good pal who dated a friend of mine all those years back, he exchanged glances and he blanked me, the others were a middle aged couple who were sat a few rows in front of me but no eye contact was made, i proceeded to sit down and another 2 sisters greeted me, so in the space of about 10 mins a grand total of 4 people have made the big effort to say hi.
the opening song commenced and the sister next to me kindly offered me her songbook.

yeah, i know it means nothing....but it gives you an idea of how deep i've been a jw.. i don't even really know what to write at this point.

i left the organization several months ago, and am on a new path now.
though i didn't grow up in the organization, i have basically lived a life of pretending to be something i'm not, sheltering my feelings from everyone, and not feeling "enough" to anyone.

last year i gave the memorial talk, this year for the first time in my entire life i won't even be going.. i guess that missing the memorial will definitely put us on the elder's radar, so i am expecting the elders to be concerned an interrogation.

i was going to use the excuse that i will be in a different part of country, but i won't be and i will be at work with at least 3 other jw's in a neighbouring congregation.. .
Excellent progress! I too have to prepare for the suddenly re-interested elders after I don't attend.

for the last 13 years, we haven't attended and didn't even care about it.
but since we became card carrying members of jwn in september, we have an interest in what are friends here on jwn are doing.. for us?
we will be watching 'dancing with the stars'.
The family and I will be at home. Dinner, homework for the kids, baths, bedtime. I may check in here while Mrs. Zoiks is working, then probably enjoy some sexy time when she gets home.
