  The Judicial Committee Gossiping Reach, Two or Four Counties? Three!

  how far does the "barking chain" of gossip spread from one kingdom hall's judicial committee to another kingdom hall?

  the record to my personal knowledge (three counties away 100 miles.

  )is i had a brother call me and ask if "brother so-and-so was going to be disfellowshiped on thursday night", he heard it from our cobe.

  You have simple men with grandiose delusions and they are granted a type of control/dominance over the lives of others. They are not trained professionals, they are typically well-meaning deluded souls with an illusion about themselves. Because they are not trained professionals, they have little to no concept of the damage that can be done by sharing private information with others, no matter how close and how perceived trustworthy.

  Then, factor in the drama. They all love a good soap opera, so when it unfolds, they can't wait to "share" because he who knows most or knows first for some unwritten rule claims a superior spot. So....the babbling begins and it surely does travel.

  Gossip is one of the hugest issues these people face - and it is borne of boredom plus that organizational fostering of superiority of one over another. All in all, pretty stupid and I'd say childish, but kids are more just plain mean up front and get it done and over with and move on.

  so do you think we help the wt society by agreeing to not have any contact with witness family, therefore our family and friends have no resistance to the wt control?.

  what if we fought fire with fire and love bombed back?

  like send holiday greeting cards with picture of all family together saying wish you where here!.

  As a Watchtower Reader on Sunday, did you ever have to use the bathroom?

  i just had a dream last night that i was watchtower reader again on a sunday.

  it was weird because the color scheme seemed like a zombie-green.

  my old coboe was conducting the study and he seemed like kind of a jerk.

  Please dear Falcon - you couldn't possibly.....that is just not right.

  Actually I have seen readers as soon as the ?'s start boogie on out to the loo....and dash back in sufficient time - because the conductor had the decency to extend question/answers till the reader got back. i've also see them ask a buddy from the audience to cover. Never saw a PT giver with a "male situation".....but then Falc said he was joking.

  Common situation though with sisters about to have a ministry school "talk" to have a sudden case of diarrhea. nerves do it.........it's just such an unnatural thing to be having to do. the talk that is....

  in the chilling experience thread never knew asks a few questions about attending a meeting.. i thought i would dedicate a thread to answering this question- because my knowledge is a little outdated, please join in!.

  1. you will be scrutinized for your appearance.

  as a woman you are expected to wear a below knee length skirt or dress.

  about the dress - especially with females it does vary from area to area. in the usa city areas the standard is far higher than in the boonies. some places on the eastern seaboard it was amazing the difference between the average garb in city areas and rural areas. it did seem to be pretty much universal though that at bigger assemblies/conventions especially the teenage girls were typically inappropriately dressed - wearing wannabe cocktail type dresses or evening wear - in an effort of course to get male attention.

  i for one always found it completely ridiculous to dress toddlers and elementary school kids (boys) in mini-suits, tie and white shirt and all. their ordinary school clothes would make far more sense....ditto for the girl children...why the need for a dress is beyond me. fine for occasions, but sitting in a stadium or sports arena???? seriously?!?

  whatever happened to "conduct unbecoming a christian"? i think the new brazen moniker is spot on for their idea of keeping the r&f in line....it rather implies that anything beyond the rules and regulations - including thinking and gasp, horror of horrors, daring to reason and come to a logical conclusion on one's own - brazen!!!!!!!!! causing division or brazen conduct - either way you're dead meat.

  Did you feel guilty for not pioneering?

  i started pioneering the month i finished high school, and never stopped until i awakened, 17 years later.

  it seems like the entire time, there was so much emphasis on pioneering.

  every field service meeting seemed to have a part that communicated the message that jehovah would zap us at the big a. or people would die because of us if we didn't have extenuating circumstances (i always translated as bad health or kids, but even then, there were always "examples" of the mom with 5 kids that was pioneering).

  i was guilted into it but kicked out within a year because i didn't have the seven BS's and getting the 100 hours a month was next to impossible......

  in retrospect i wish i had never once in my life gone out in FS....but raised in it, you don't get away with that.....

  don't worry - it is good that you made it clear that you would research any and all sites - not just the one she was pushing.... i sometimes think the best route is simplicity and just be kindly dismissive and never rude. some guys here can really go into the nitty-gritty and if they can, more power to them - but some of us are better just letting go.......
