  Being able to search billions of pages on the internet in under a second gives ordinary folk like us the opportunity to connect with the greatest minds and thinking on any topic at any time.

  This, it seems to me, is part of what is fuelling and making possible change (for the better) in our day.

  Forums like JWN also create powerful virtual communities of people who voluntarily and powerfully support each other's life and career journeys, as well as lines of enquiry into an impressive array of topics, fields and disciplines.

  I liked your sumary and description, in bold, Focus.

  In "Physics of the Future" (2011) by Michio Kaku, in the Introduction, under the heading "Science as a Sword", on page 16, which I was reading this morning:

  "Of course, science is a double edged sword; it creates as many problems as it solves, but always on a higher level. There are two competing trends in the world today: one is to create a planetary civilisation that is tolerant, scientific, and prosperous, but the other glorifies anarchy and ignorance that could rip the fabric of our society. We still have the same sectarian, fundamentalist, irrational passions of our ancestors, but the difference is that we now have nuclear, chemical and biological weapons."

  ??? Love never fails ???

  1 corinthians 13:8 - love never fails.... .

  i've always thought it meant that where love once existed it will always exist, always be felt no matter what happens.

  the last few years have forced me to abandon that understanding in favor of new light.. now i'm thinking: love never fails to be the appropriate way to handle any given situation.

  Somehow I don't think we'd be able to attract quite as many followers as the Watchtower though, despite it being new light and all.

  Local Kingdom Hall Speakers To Be Replaced By Governing Body Video Feeds.

  so we've seen as the current gb is getting more facetime in an effort to reach the hearts and minds of the rank and file.

  this took a leap with video feeds at an open annual meeting.

  the international conventions are taking this a step farther.. do you think that local speakers at kingdom halls could ever be replaced by headquarter approved video feeds?.

  if ray franz had stayed in place, he could have lived like a god, why did he leave?

  He began to see that "legalism" is apostasy, and is rife in the Watchtower.

  On the otherhand he saw that the "gospel of grace" was being carefully hidden from Watchtower followers.

  Hence his crisis of conscience.

  BOE Letter Regarding Youth Baptisms

  apparently the society is taking an aggressive stand on youth baptisms and the age recommendations.. from what i have heard from a good source in bethel, a letter is being sent to all boe's that those desiring to be baptized first be potty trained.. rub a dub.
