My Story

my story is long, heart stopping, tragic, and puzzling.

since i posted what was said to be my last post, i received a private message which sparked my attention about the watchtower.

immediately i did research, and have found not only proof from outside sources, but the watchtower openly admitting it.

i don't post much, so refresher course: i've been dating an unbaptized jw for years.

he's not super into jwism and probably never will be because he thinks a lot of it is a pile of poo.. .

The explicit, unabridged gospel can be found in their publications - albeit deliberately fragmented and obscured by contrary focus, noise and busy-ness.

Nothing has more power though to break and authentically supplant his addiction.

Number of anointed partakers in new yearbook?

i haven't seen the 2014 yearbook on the jw site yet.

i'm looking to see if the number of partakers has increased again (as it has for many years now).

anyone have a scan of it yet?.

The Watchtower has totally butchered the truth about Jesus' brothers, beyond recognition, even using mistranslation to support their apostasy.

Scripturally:

only "one hope" (which includes heaven and earth)
144,000 is not a literal number (else only literal virgins qualify)
all humans will be equal (no hierarchies)
"rule upon" the earth (not over - compare Kingdom Interlinear Translation by WBTS, especially diagram of Greek prepositions)
rule in the sense of victorious over evil (not over other humans)

Personally, she seems to be a thinker, potentially open-minded, and willing to respectfully and calmly engage you and your thoughts.

I would "impute the best" and respond in kind, after reassuring her of your friendship and love.

Maybe she could be asked some sincere and simple questions?

If the followers of the "true religion" call themselves "publishers of the Good news" can one rightly expect the "Good News" according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms to be in their hearts and on their lips?
How would one explain their unfamiliarity with the "Good News" according to Paul, Moses, Isaiah and Psalms?
What is the "plan of salvation"?
What if "the truth" is more to do with "the truth of the Good News" than with doctrinal positions on the trinity, hellfire and immortality of the soul?
In how many verses does Paul discuss the correct view of the trinity, hellfire and immortality of the soul?
How many of the Bible's references to "Good News" are by Paul? What percentage is this?
How many times does Paul refer to "Good News" and "Kingdom" in the same sentence? Why?
In his books "Religion" and "Enemies" how many times did JF Rutherford refer to "true religion", and how many times "false religion", and how many times "all religion"?
Consequently is it true or false that JF Rutherford taught that all religion is a snare and a racket?

Actually, if you use the above, you may want to acknowledge that it is quite a mouthful and you may have to both work patiently through it without any outside "help" (using instead only the Watchtower library on computer, and pdf downloads of Rutherford's books).

I pray for a good outcome in your communications and relationship.

so,you ever seen somethin strange?shadow people?felt cold spots?touched by something you can't see?beaten by an unseen force?heard voices/whispers/growls/screams etc?are you sure about it or was it just your imagination?you ever been into the occult?c'mon share your experiences and stories!personally i've never had an encounter with the other side..

At the age of 6, I had an inter-dimensional experience.

Yup, around 4 decades ago, as a 6 year old I already knew what (the late) Carl Sagan and Michio Kaku now know regarding the existence of other higher dimensions beyond space-time and our 5-senses.

Describe the state of the world's religions

how would you describe the state of the world's religions currently.

which ones do you see making reforms and progress or bound to old traditions, or split between old and new approaches to social, environmental and political concerns.. jws.

Ultimately the honey (spirituality) has to be free of arsenic (religion).

It seems we are in some interim phase where certain religions or groups within those religions could be described as "progressive".

I have for example come across Catholic nuns that are very active spiritually and very non-religious.

I have also come across persons in religion that denounce religion.

The late Robert Farrar Capon (an Episcopal priest): "Religion, therefore, is a loser, a strictly fallen activity. It has a failed past and a bankrupt future. There was no religion in Eden and there won't be any in heaven."

The Watchtower "ruling religious clergy class" therefore seems to be one of the few that still push religion to the max.

Can one find God without studying the Bible?

i don't recall jesus ever once telling people that they should even read the bible to find god.. he said nothing about 'taking in knowledge' either.. .

he didn't encourage people to read the bible because 90% of people in his day couldn't read!

the bible was not read by most people, it was -heard- when someone else read it aloud.

In my experience God is found, heard and understood by explicit and relentless pursuit of the liberating "unabridged gospel" message hidden in plain sight throughout scripture (and which the "ruling religious clergy class" fear and hate above all else).
