What is generally acceptable? It's hard to say exactly who or what is too much of an age difference, I just turned 31. I'll likely be single again soon. Where's my cutoff line?

Writers or writer wannabe's in Toronto...

Seems to be a few writers on this board. While I certainly could not call myself a "writer" as I've had nothing published, it is something I'm looking into. I'd like to be able to supplement my income by getting things published here or there.

How did I get away with it??
by home_and_dry inthe more i read on this board, the more it makes me wonder how on earth i managed to escape the jw's without being df'd.
i was baptized in 1990 aged 15. i was df'd in 1991 and was reinstated after only 2 months 'out' and a further 3 months of returning to the meetings.. two years after being reinstated, i knew i wanted out but couldn't bear the thought of being df'd again.
so i found a flat to rent and moved out of my jw parents home.

I think your story is actually the more common one. It is from my experience anyway. The ones that get shunned and treated badly by their families and friends are the ones that have a need to speak out on the matter, and end up finding these boards and talking about how they've been treated. Most of the ones like you, who are treated reasonably, have no need to speak out, and thus we don't hear from them on boards like these.

You have some points there ninja. So many of the bros just don't have the skills to keep things interesting on subjects that are usually not new, and pretty dry to start with. I do try to make the parts I have interesting, and I notice the friends appreciation for it.
An idea the society should look into is making any brothers who give parts on the meeting take an additional course or schooling on being effective in teaching to the congregation and keeping things lively and interesting. The TMS is a good basic course, but more is needed for real and effective teaching

Happy Df'ing Anniversary to me!!!!!
