  We picked up nails in TWO tires from a body shop, in the dead of winter. Try filling up with air every few hours, throwing money in the machine with frozen fingers.

  I was most impressed by the fella from AMA. He found the hole and patched the tire with his head in a snowdrift. I think that was the coldest week last winter.

  while many may complain and see the hypocrisy within the kh's, maybe even with the gb, how does one bring up doctrine issues?

  Have I mentioned how important it is to keep a sense of humour? So many things are so ridiculous. Laugh about it. Show up it's silliness. Pick off the shaky veneer of respectability. We frequent a fast food restaurant every Thursday, and hubby quickly charmed the proprietors. For the longest time they thought he was a lawyer or something, always so dressed up.... LOL.

  Even though I am a sly old vixen, I have always been completely up-front about some things. I am always in his corner. When he says something stupid, I call him on it. And I've never hid my involvement on here though he has remained stubbornly innocent. After all, the "truth" has nothing to fear, right? LOL.

  i met her while at watchtower farms in the early eighties.

  i knew her second husband glen before alzheimers really began to take its toll.

  this statement startled me out of the pleasant mental absence during this week's "service" meeting.. pushing the org.

  explanation: "the listener has time to interrupt, if they want--" .

  together with an incredible boring "study" of an hand held device, or it's stored content, i will be a totally new crop of orgies at the halls,.

  Now, I've seen religious folk of all kinds reading their materials on the bus (Koran, Bible, WT Mag). I wonder sometimes by taking such a "stand" they hope to be a good "witness". In that scenario, the Witness with their pad in their lap may get a curious conversation or two.

  But start up a three minute sales bit on my doorstep??? I don't think so.

  What do you think of private prayer and study time, you and him and the bible? He cares about Jehovah's approval, let him build a personal set of beliefs that he can really stand for. He will drift farther and farther from the WTS's doctrines the more he thinks and studies for himself.

  At some point he may just say "enough".

  I followed Hassan's techniques to speak to my natural man and he is himself most of the time. He hasn't been to any meeting in over a year, and it was sporadic at best for the past three years. The approach you take all depends on what is important to him. So your first research job is not the bible but your partner! What are his hobbies, interests, dreams, talents, favourite memories?

  When I talk to my husband about a controversial topic, I preface it with, "Honey, you always...", or "I like how you...", or "Put yourself in their shoes for a moment..." Anything to elicit empathy, to think for himself.

  Since doctrine is something that Witnesses claim to care about, almost any doctrinal subject will bring up their cultic defences. Deflect all that by being real.

  There is no guaranteed way to "out" a partner. They have free will, after all. There can be more peace in the marriage if you declare "truce" and allow him to believe whatever he wants. This also holds true if he decides to exit! There's something very powerful about honoring people's choices.
