What is a morally upright life?
by jgnat inis it relative, or do all human societies and cultures hold at least some things to be good?.
i don't think right and true is "universal" other than what is right and true for people.
a dolphin or a praying mantis may have alien perceptions of what is "good".

This means everyone knows what is right and wrong. - pinku
Except for people who are not "true people". Pinku, you make plenty of declarative statements but none of these statements are backed up by hard statistics or good science. So from my point of view, it's a puff in the wind. Evolution is far more proven than your puff pieces.
The theory of evolution allows for decline. There are entire branches of the evolutionary tree that have been lopped off by misfortune.
But you haven't provided any evidence of moral decline. And there's good evidence that many of us retain a rosy picture of the past, painting the present as relatively unpretty. But do the facts bear it out? Every time I look, the hard evidence proves that we have it better off than any other generation.

Divorcing my husband of 13 years...

i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.

Get solid information on the bank accounts and split the joint accounts ASAP.Make sure he can't freeze you out of the money or squander your joint assets on a spending spree.
My best friend adopted and fostered many special needs children and her husband kept up with it all; a real team. Your instincts are right about your ex.
My friend was a teacher's aide for many years. She specialized in autism and later deaf children. I think your talents are pretty obvious and be assured a career can be made of it. My step sisters both trained to foster high needs children. Their homes are lively for sure! And they are good at it.
Please, please get an education on your finances first. That will save you a world of pain later. Go to the bank directly if you need to.

We watched Finding Fanny yesterday and hubby laughed out loud throughout. The reviews are patchy but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the veteran actors.

If it is your computer alone that is messing with you, then you need the Geek Squad. I doubt Simon makes house calls.
Pointing out the obvious, have you tried refreshing your cookies, F5?

Hoser, about making your day...this is why if I can make life a little stupider for the average elder, I'll advise in that direction. Leave them twisting in the wind. Confess nothing. Don't show up for assignments, fail to show for scheduled meetings, screen your calls.
It's a thankless job that does not encourage the flock. Make it ever more difficult to recruit to this volunteer position.

And the topic of this thread is the morality of Sanctity. There is a tendency of contributors to relate their fundamental moral foundation. Can you think of examples of sanctity?

Pinku, you are not thinking things through. I maintain that "universal morals" goes no farther than humanity. There are implications.
