One of the more ridiculous and offensive things the WTS has ever taught and that is saying a lot.
I know I saw a link to this article sometime in the last two weeks but I've lost it! Can anyone direct me to this article?

ya today they told me they dreamed about a judicial committee that dfd them.........a very long dream......and that later a letter was read that retracted the df..........like that happens often.........but anywoo........ i bet/hope i will dream i am in paradise with 17 concubines tonight.......it could be messy...........oompa.
Weird, I just had an intense jw dream last night. I dreamt I was trying to make friends with Melissa (current contestant on So You Think You Can Dance?) and that she was a jw. And I was subtly trying to get her to think about some things they teach that aren't true. But everything I said made her suspicious and angry.
do you know the news from gobrandmall?.
interesting pictures,big surprise,hot news.. all from www.gobrandmall.com.
have you ever heard it?.
have you noticed how illustrations in the watchtower magazine reinforce witness stereotypes?.
the april 15 issue of the watchtower, on the back page, shows a man viewing pornographic material on his computer screen.
the appearance is not of a cleancut man with business shirt and tie in this case; no, this unclean man is portly and has a black beard.
Hey at least you'll see a "portly" man in the rags from time-to-time. You will never, ever see a fat chick.
after reading the terrific thread about the black harvard professor and the allegations being thrown around, i wonder if anyone might not show prejudice in one way or another.
i kind of think, anyone can be guilty of it.
i know some blacks that seriously look down upon other blacks simply because of a variation in color.
I am prejudiced in favor of black people and against white people when it comes to friendliness. I have found that when I move to a new place, black people welcome me with open arms. It's like instant family. White people can be so stand-offish. It's like they have to see if you are good enough for them first.
For the record, I am white.
And THIS is the reason that I think sometimes black people (or other races) are wrong when they assume they're being treated badly due to racism. As W.C. Fields said, "I'm not racist. I hate everyone equally." Sometimes you're being treated bad just because the other person is a jerk to everyone they're not related to by blood, not because you're a different race.
I think it's actually normal for people to lean more towards people who are more like them rather than different from them.
This is true of more than just race. Have you ever met someone new, and after a short time with them felt like you really had a connection? Next time that happens, pay attention to your movements, gestures and body language. Chances are, one of you is unconsciously mirroring the other in movement. This puts us at ease and makes us like the person because they seem so much more like us. We are very biased in favor of ourselves. Anyone who seems on the surface to be similar to us is more likely to gain our favor.
so my family wants to talk to me about my "doubts" and i know they'll try to defend everything they can in any way that they can so i just want to be prepared and see what they might say (what you would have said as a witness or what you've heard others say) so that i could rebut it on the spot.. if the fds is directed by the holy spirit why have they been wrong before?
"light gets brighter...." but that's not the case because there would be no reason to go back to old policies after changing them...the light certainly doesn't get brighter, then darker, then brighter, etc.if god is omniscient why did he create satan knowing he would rebel or adam and eve knowing they would sin?

a perspective on professor gates' arrest google_ad_section_end .
edited on thu jul-23-09 06:30 pm by empowerer google_ad_section_start the events leading up to professor gates' arrest, the arrest itself and reaction thereto - from the president and others - cannot be fully understood without considering it within the larger context.
I accept that racism is alive in America. What I don't understand is what I, as a non-racist individual, am supposed to do about it. On another site I regularly visit, people post secrets. One woman's secret was that she always feels inferior around white men. I get that impression from some of the black friends I've had.
For instance, one good friend constantly makes jokes in which he refers to himself as "nigger." None of our friends would ever use that term. It feels like he's making jokes and putting himself down to fit in with the white people. But none of the white people would think anything of the racial difference if he didn't keep bringing it up. It's like when fat people put themselves down to be liked.
It's a catch-22. Most of the white people I know--us little guys who neither make policy nor enforce it--just want everyone to get along and be colorblind. But the people of other races have had to live with so much crap that they're constantly on the defensive and won't let us let it go. And it's frustrating when you feel like you can't have an open, honest discussion because anything you say can and will be used against you to prove that all white people are just racist.
i know i have had several opportunities to transfer with a prominent position intact and turned them down to family logistics and such.
now that i am older i regret the decisions i made.
i may not have been on easy street but it would have made things a whole lot better.
Yeah, when the company I worked for (past tense) asked us to tell them if we saw instances of exclusion I should have kept my trap shut. You'd think I worked for the GB.
i used to smoke cigarettes.
i quit as i was learning the lies of the watchtower organization.. i used to smoke between 1 and 3 packs a day depending on whether i went drinking or not.. .
i didn't really quit for the religion, but as i was learning it.. i swore to quit when cigarettes got to cost me more than a buck a pack.
Just wanted to post a funny saying: Having a non-smoking section in a restaurant is like having a non-peeing section in a swimming pool.
I am strongly libertarian, leaning toward anarchism (the self-government kind, not the chaos kind). As far as I'm concerned, government has no business interfering in people's freedom of choice. If a person or business doesn't want smoking on their property, they have every right to make and enforce that rule. If they want smoking to be allowed, they should have that right, too.
Fighting taxes on one area like cigarettes is like fighting the head of a hydra. You can chop it off but three more will take its place. As long as government interferes more and more in our lives and creates more and more useless programs and spends more and more money, they're going to take more taxes. We don't pay taxes. They take taxes.
I've never smoked but I'm damn glad I have the right to.
without ever have experienced a hatred for someone or something?
is hatred always bad?
can it be an inspiring or motivating force?.
WTWizard, I love your posts. Have you gotten laid yet? The built up frustration might rupture something.
