  How to stick up for yourself to JWs...

  i figured i'd start a thread on this because i've noticed especially with women they really beat you into submission.

  so, i thought it would be good to talk about how to handle different situations without arguing.. if you have any ideas on how to handle the following situations, or have any other scenerios to add, please share!.

  The brothers can first pull the logs out of their own eyes before I will permit them to point out the splinter in mine!

  Elders/Parents say you can't make a decision because your husband is the head

  My accepting him as my head means I have decided too, if I am not allowed to make decisions- then why did he ask ME to marry him in the first place???

  Maybe your problems are because you don't study/ pray enough

  No... I think we are just flat broke and stressed out over bills/feeding the kids/keeping our house because, our jobs dont pay enough! I could pray for money- but I still have go out and work for it!

  or maybe I am being responisble by working hard to provide for my family etc... is that not also important???

  If you have left, how would you treat witnesss you run into ?

  i da'ed myself back in october 2008.. i also work at a local community college, where the witnesses have a booth set up during the winter months and usually there are 3 -4 people.

  just sitting there counting their time.. they are located in a student lounge area where i need to cross several times a day.. my question is this: would you just ignore them totally,.

  would you approach them if they made eye contact, or would you just approach them whenever and say hello ?

  I would be as nice and friendly as possible- I ran into my old study JW a few weeks ago in the shopping centre, I was extremly nice, and when asked how I was doing, I replyed with more than enough 'happy' news and even asked if she would like to catch up sometime over coffee.... I have moved house but my phone number hadn't changed....... still no call........ but I am hopefull.

  By showing these JW's where you work, that you can have a happy and fulfilling life out of the WTB- you are leading by example! shunning or ignoring them will only reinforce their ideas about apostates........

  A Smurf walked out of the Kingdom Hall

  when i was a kid, i'm guessing 5 or 6 years old.

  the "smurfs are demonized" rumors started spreading around.

  after a few weeks of hearing that and having to throw away all my smurf toys, i was at the kingdom hall and a sister came in with a bookbag with a big picture of a smurf on it!

  we just had a minor earhquake 12 hours ago....as we did in march and i'm thinking......whatever!.

  obama starting "peace and security" talks with israel and palastine, and i think..........whatever!.

  How much does an individual copy of WT or Awake! cost?

  i'm not talking about the incalculable cost of wasted lives, etc.. i'm mainly thinking about actual out-of-pocket accounting cost to the wtb&ts.

  raw materials, labor (yes labor, it's not quite free even though some seem to think so), utilities, shipping, etc.. my gut says about $.30 us.

  but i have crunched no numbers nor done any research.. anyone else?.

  I put unimportant things in a file.

  So have you filed all the cases of child abuse, murder, doctrine flip flops etc... into that file of yours too????

  By your attacks, shows who has holy spirit and who does not.

  I guess that stuff isn't all that important.... as long as you have the spirit then I guess that makes it OK to put in a file and pretend it never happened!
