Evolution and Atheism - please help

not being familiar with either, my question is:.

what is the relationship between evolution and atheism?.

i'd love to hear from anyone and everyone, and also from any perspective.. without limiting the conversation in any way, i would of course also appreciate comments that are simple, clear, direct and correct (as i don't have the capacity to do a phd in evolution or atheism)..

As I've said before, the thing I really like about Science is that if you choose not to believe them, they don't threaten you, upon your death, to judge you and if found guilty or otherwise inappropriate in some manner, torture you for all eternity in a burning lake of fire.

Should I get babtized?

i know this sounds like a ridiculous question but i was talking with my mom in the car today and of course we got on the topic of getting babtized again.

she told me that jehovah holds me accountable for my sins regardless of wether i am babtized or not so i have no reason to be holding back because it won't change anything.

my parents are the type of super strict jw who will shun you just for not being a witness.

My advice is.... Never get baptized. If you do, there will be a ton of expectations you'll then be badgered into doing. The browbeating isn't going to stop with baptism. As I've told you before, my Witness Mom used Jesus' example. He was well into adulthood before taking the plunge. She wouldn't let us get baptized before we were of age.

Put your life plan together and when you're done high school, skeedaddle on outta your parents house and get to College or Uni.

Richard Dawkins has had a Stroke

he is back home and making god progress.. he has issued an audio statement here....

He sounds a bit tired and weak but still sharp. He has been having chronic blood pressure problems lately as well as stress. It is good that he can still speak and think. It's interesting that he says his biggest challenge is buttons. We take simple things for granted. I hope he can recover fully. This getting old sucks.

Evolution debunks a lot of religious claims, eg. that the Earth and/or mankind are only about 6,000 years old.

My son's and I's first Valentines Day, Friendship day celebration since our awakening!!

so this weekend will be my first time celebrating friendship day since stop celebrating due to being a jw for years.

the most exciting part for me and makes me very happy is finally to have my son participate and be involved in normal activities at school with classmates.

no longer will i allow him to be ostracized at school due to the wt "cult's" ridiculous reasoning why some things are not okay to participate while others are okay.

The Heart shape has always been a fave of mine. But I was told it was evil due to Pagan origins. I didn't care. I drew them all the time. I now have several heart shaped stones of various different types... Rose Quartz, Hematite, Amethyst, etc. I even found one just taking a walk at my Dad's one day. Tell me, if the heart shape is so evil, why did Jehovah make this stone?
