  the news stated this week that blue jeans are not fashionable any longer.

  a fad that got started as a working mans pants is being replaced by yoga pants.

  According to Bart Ehrman, most Bible Scholars/Historians agree that Jesus of Nazareth did exist. He was a Jewish apocolyptic preacher who thought God was going to fix all the world's ailments in his lifetime. Hmm... sounds vaguely familiar.

  One of my lightbulb moments was when I realized that not only did Jesus write nothing down but the original Bible texts are no longer available for scrutiny. This is a perfect environment to write whatever the ancients wanted Jesus to be, do, and say.

  And the result was the birth of the Christian cult where, if you don't believe what they do, and get reborn as a Christian, you will be judged and punished.

  for a religious group that has become more and more reader's digest vapid across recent decades, whose ability to defend its doctrines and policies depends on punishing independent thinking and whose meetings are sleep inducing snooze-fests, a talk about sexy clothes is about as desperately arousing as it can get without unzipping one's pants.. but among those who know the religious organization behind tony morris's attention-grabbing address to the faithful, this is anything but surprising.

  when you've harped on for long, unforgiving decades about the nearness of the end, whilst simultaneously shoring up treasures on earth - some ear-marked for completion in 2017 - expect even your more loyal followers to shuffle their tired, bedraggled feet and barely stifle forceful yawns.

  hell, they may even contemplate tighter fitting clothes because all else is miserably bland - except for the razzle-dazzle of an alluring, colorful world intent on arousing you out of your sad slumber.. so these self-appointed emperors or governing body member focus on anything that threatens a straying spirit.

  so, how many times have we heard this expression (or a variation of it):.

  "jehovah's spirit seems to be blocked here in the congregation...perhaps he is bringing something to light...etc".

  it seems that the org often uses this expression, and links it with the "fact" that god wont bless a cong as much,(or at all) if there is "stuff" or "sins" being carried out.. so, why is it then that the cong i am in is experiencing its best years of activity in all aspects?

  deep down inside, i have always been agnostic.

  the first few chapters in genesis are contradictory and differing.. no one has ever been able to answer my question: "why was satan ever created?".

  Instead of degrading people for their choice of clothing, why not degrade these disgusting so-called witnesses that are sexually abusing innocent children? But no, they want to keep these issues secret so that their names and Jehovah's name will be protected. What a field of horse turds.

  Excellent observation. I think it's their tactic to distract the R&F away from the awful things and the unfulfilled Armageddon prophecy. I just wanted to point out, though, that your statement "what a field of horse turds" is an insult to horse manure.

  Regarding Satan, my conclusions are that Christianity decided to create Satan in order to shift the blame, and therefore, responsibility, of evil away from humans onto a mythological creature. All the gods and demons are a creation of the ancient human imagination in an effort to define the undefinable.

  Inactive ones are bloodguilty?

  i've been thinking about brother morris' statement at the zone meeting this past weekend that inactive ones are bloodguilty.

  bloodguilt is defined as "guilty of murder or manslaughter.

  " murder is #1 on the list of disfellowshipping offenses- all they would have to do is change the wording from "murder" to "bloodguilt" and suddenly there you have grounds to disfellowship anyone who's inactive.
