For those of you who love animals, and maybe those who do not, I would recommend reading "When Elephants Weep" by Jeffrey Masson ( http://www.jeffreymasson.com/animal-books/when-elephants-weep.html ). There is some facinating information and lovely stories in here about the emotional lives of animals.

I hope she doesn't ask me again *rolls eye*
by mrsjones5 inlet me start by saying that i'm not fond of folks asking me if i have a church and would i like to go to theirs...over and over.
i figure after i say no the first time that should be the end of it but for some i guess not .
i live in a tiny fourplex and there is a young couple (i would guess in their mid twenties), with four kids, who live two doors down.

Josie, that's weird. She wants to change churches, but invites you to the one whose pastor is quick to judge?
Misery loves company. Run Away!

What dog?
John Doe.... LOL!
Actually, I thought it was her purse.
That cat piano is disgusting, though! Good job I never met Kircher or he'd have been dog meat.

homeschool... I hear what you're saying. It doesn't matter whether you're a JW or not. There are considerate and inconsiderate people in this world. The proper etiquette if you have committed to going and suddenly cannot is to inform the person who invited you. At least some came and I agree with Hope4Others. Focus on the good stuff. If you really want to know why they didn't come, you could ask them directly. If they have a valid excuse, tell them you'd appreciate a phone call next time if they can't show. You could say that you were worried something bad had happened to them. If there is no good reason, don't invite them again.
For any sort of get together, the rule of thumb for no shows is at least 10%. Life happens and things come up. I'm always amazed if everyone shows up at gatherings I have arranged. It is recommended that you 'over-invite' for a good showing -- one suggestion is to invite 5 extra people for every 20 ( http://www.hsn.com/cnt/feature/default.aspx?ContentID=128&sf=hd&attr=4807&vavideo ). Something to keep in mind for the next party!

Watchtower is kicking people out again, in the name of LOVE?
by Bethelite Elder inright now at bethel, they are laying off and reassigning again.
if you have cancer or some other illness, you are a liability and it's time to pack.
i remember the night when we had the special talk about there being a great need in the field and some would be sent out.

FlyingHighNow said: Part of the reason the US economy is in such miserable shape. You can't run a good company with out happy, healthy people and it be successful. Eventually everyone pays for this short sighted corporate greed.
FlyingHighNow, you hit the nail on the head. Humanity left corporate North America years ago when they started 'packaging people off'.
And LOL re: the cone of silence! Get Smart - I loved that show. "Sorry about that Chief".

AGAIN with the college bashing
by Pistoff inok so the mate took good notes at the ca and here is the newest on "higher education:.
the usual bashing of motives: those who want great wealth, prestige and seek it in a college educationcollege graduates don't always get jobs in their fieldsdrugs, drinking and sex are "rampant" at collegesthose who want to "snatch us away" are near if we go to college (isa 54)if we seek a college education, we are not spiritual mindedthe most disturbing for me was this:.
those who choose college will not get blessings from jehovahand of course there was the obligatory interview with the college graduate who disdains the education whe received.. .

Ok, so let me see... I went to college. Here's my take on this:
a) Do I have great wealth, prestige? Answer: No. That's what high school drop-outs get when they follow their dreams and end up as rock stars!
b) I was unable to find a job in my field. Reply: No. I was hired into the exact field I was studying for.
c) Did I rampantly partake in drugs, drinking, and sex whilst in college? Answer: No. I had a part-time job whilst in college as my parents didn't save for my education. I was too freakin' busy studying, completing assignments, and working! I also wanted a job. There's more rampant sex going on in my backyard right now since it's Spring. The animals, birds, and insects are all getting it 100% more than me. Hey! You Mourning Doves! Get a Room!! Sheesh!
d) Was I 'snatched' away? Answer: No. I'm still here!
e) I am not spiritual minded due to my education. Reply: No. I constantly think of spiritual things and have sought much information on this topic. I continually educate myself on spirituality as well as many other subjects.
Another one for the question thread... What scripture supports the statement "Those who choose college will not get blessings from Jehovah"?

ninja... pedophiles could be enormous... ...
....but sadly, they're not that easy to spot. Perhaps it should be reworded to say...
"Did you know you have an enormous problem with pedophiles in your organization?"
But that put my question to 13 words. Can I still use it?
