  Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.

  the difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.

  but i would say it's hard for brothers also.

  Years ago there was an extremely attactive woman in my parent's congregation. She was browbeaten for being beautiful. The elders were constantly telling her she was dressing too sensually, etc. But regardless of how much dowdy dressing she wore, her beauty overcame it and the Witnesses didn't know how to deal with it. She was married with children as well. Not sure if she is still in as I believe they moved away.

  To the comment about beauty being in the eye of the beholder, I can verify that. I have been told I am pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, attractive as well as ugly, overweight, and unattractive. * Heaven shrugs her shoulders * . Whatever.

  Kinda scary, considering that dialing 9-1-1 (particularly when one's life depends on it) requires the use of an electronic device...

  Vidiot, you are so correct. This is why he is in a nursing home now and not allowed to venture out on his own. I didn't even get him a phone in his room because he doesn't have a clue how to use it and can't get to it. Dementia has a way of creating Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses whether they like it or not.

  I suspect his status with the Borg is 'inactive' at best; I'm pretty sure he is no longer considered a Ministerial Servant.

  Are you an "out of the closet" atheist?

  i'm atheist and not ashamed of it.

  however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.

  i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?

  Seems the doublespeak applies to this as well then. Counsel not to get the latest gadgets, but then pressure to have them to keep up with the KM presentations and jw tv

  I went to my little cousins 1 year old birthday party and thoroughly enjoyed it.

  i got an invite from some none j bud family members to go to my little cousins 1 year old birthday party.

  this is going to sound weird but in my 40 years of living this is the 1st birthday i've ever attended.

  I tried to make an elder feel guilty for shunning his 2 children.

  i ran into an elder the other day at walmart.

  he's a fairly good man and has a wife that is very sickly.

  so sickly in fact i don't know how she's holding on.

  How is it so many jw are 'sickly'..? It is my observation that jw as a group are the unhealthiest people.

  Oh, and I bet no lobbing off of heads occurred either.

  I've attended a number of birthday parties in my 51 years of life and NEVER, EVER have any heads been chopped off. No deaths have occurred whatsoever.
