  Should some people actually be Witnesses?

  it seems to me like certain people actually benefit from joining the religion.

  primarily i'm thinking of ones with drug problems who are only able to quit because they are working towards baptism.

  another example would be those who are always getting in fights or who have a big ego, and who learn to be pacifistic and humble as a witness.

  It does not always work out so well for those with problems, issues. The jws can be cold-hearted and mean-spirited to those who are not raised like them. they can be very judgemental of those who are poor and or had poor unbringing. Many people with abuse issues find the jws abuse them even more saying things like they should forgive the abuser or they are just as evil . I think your idea for the thread is good BUT you are wrong about who prospers among jws. Middle class folks with problems will probably be ok. they look at the poor as just inferior people, regardless of color.

  \They did not used to support AA and psychological counseling or even psych meds. Pitty the sick person.

  Demon attacks on JW in past, where'd they go?

  in the 80's and 90's (maybe even earlier) i remember hearing lots of witnesses talk about "demon attacks".

  whether it was someone studying the bible who then started having strange things happen in their house to people bringing stuff home from yard sales and getting personal attacks and horrible dreams resulting in them dystroying stuff they brought home or getting rid of it.. .

  i also remember hearing a sister say she had to pray in a home with a study because the study started to get attacked.

  The WT and AW are full of demon stories from the past. Some time in the 80's a lot less of these stories appeared. Jws began to consider mental illness more often. However I have heard them say privately and from the platform many times that the demons attack the mentally ill more often b/c it is easier. They quit carrying so many stories when people in general became more educated and laughed at their mags. Also they were trying to attract yuppies to the org. The belief in demons etc is common in religions common to poorer less educated people, pentacostals, etc.

  yes I knew John Walsh is on the hunt for Rich Mclean, not the wts. Not one mention that most of the time the victim is silenced. I quess McLean was not important enough to them. It just sounded like poor jws, this bad man hurt them. They breed these folks. I am very pround of that young girl for being so brave.

  i am getting a nasty feeling john walsh is not going to mention the kingdom hall and the watchtower's scandalous conduct of covering up their hard working productive elder pedophiles!

  the watchtower put more effort in protecting their pedophiles than helping victims of the crimes.

  i know elders are instructed to call hq first because the watchtower needs to figure out how to avoid any responsibility and instruct the elders to avoid as much contact with victims while guiding the pedophile through his trials and dangers!
