I have always felt it is a way to control info and shun /expose those who are active publishers. They always told us that only those who go are regular in FS and all that get the KM. So now they will extend that to more of their literature. It does cut costs but it lends a underground tone to the entire thing. This is of course what they want you to think--the end it near, things are so close and only those who stay close to the Org will get the needed spiritual food to survive the big A.

Change in distribution of Kool-aid issue of WT, get them like your KMs from your Service Groups Overseer
by cattails innot only is there a change in the way the magazines for field service are distributed to publishers.. there's news of a change in distribution of the study issue of the wt.
from now on a publisher will.
get them like they get their kms, that is by having their service groups overseer hand deliver them.. another way to exercise control for control's sake and make the sgos busier and feeling more and.

Simon picked Lee and put his stamp of approval on him. It was obivious he would win. However, Crystal totally outsang Lee and is a totally original singer. I will buy her stuff. The only other AL winner I like is Carrie Underwood.
Not to worry, Crystal will do fine. A lot of times the runner up does better than the winner. I'd like to see her and Lee do a song together on an album.
crystal is not a hippie chick for 68 ,she is a modern strong woman who does not let others tell her how to dress. I love her look , she reminds me a bit of of Tracy Chapman.

Disfellowshipping an 80 year old man, with brain cancer, for swearing!
by James_Slash inthis happened many years ago in my old congregation.. the man, who held the position of a ministerial servant for many years had not long lost his wife in death.. obviously, tensions and the general heartbreak of what happened to him lasted for sometime.
i remember going to see him once and he was extremely depressed.. however, his son had recently moved back in with him and they had started arguing.
his son grassed on him in to the elders that his father had sworn at him in a number of arguments and he was removed as a ms. the rest is history.

There is more to that story , however I know of a similar one. An elder in his 80's ( nerarly 90) whose wife had died and he was still grieving and began to feel he got special messages of new understanding from God. He told others about this as this as anytime anyone would visit he'd talk about it. They threatened to DF him for apostacy if he did stop. He died not too long after this, from a stroke. He'd probably already had one anyohow

Are they deliberately trying to get rid of the "Old TImers"? (re "generation")
by hamsterbait inthe vast majority have been sucked into the witchtower babble and trash cult over the last 25 years.. this constant rehashing and contradicting of the "generation " teaching is bound to drive significant numbers of the pre 1985 -"ish" witlesses away from the kingdumb hells, much as "1925" drove away vast numbers who might yet undermine "jug" rutherfords efforts to secure his power.. they will then be able to make major revisions of what to us older ones seem like core doctrines, which will be lapped up like iced cream by those who only have the perspective of the 21 century litterature.. this is too obviously deliberate.
its not like some tiny side comment:.
when the gibbering buddy wants some embarrassing thing to go away, blondie has pointed out many examples, they stop talking about it.. with this change they are rubbing peoples noses in it, slapping them round the head so they dont miss it.. and who are "gasping" at the co talks?

They have been doing this for years. If you know where the bodies are buried, they will find a way to get rid of you. Nice to see someone say it on a public board .

JW practicing form of witchcraft
by XPeterX inmy grandmother practises/used to practise spells, would go to mediums, and believe in witchery-related things.she is an active jw and the elders had been told about that and they said that there is no evidence and the case closed but there were 2-3 witnesses.no jc and no disfellowshipping.why did this happen?any similar experiences?.

You sound sort of like a total jerk. She is your grandmother and why in the h*ll do you care what she does- she is not harming anyone. A lot of people , even in usa practice new agey type stuff which in some cases involves casting spells. Do some reading about this and quit running to the elders to rat out your nanny.

Perhaps Had a " Ghost " Experience the Last 6 weeks on a Job ? You tell me
by flipper ini've never been one to believe in " ghosts " .
i'm open to the possibility that there may exist something in the afterlife or spirit world- i just don't know what it is.
having been out of the witnesses over 6 years i had my fill of being a jehovah's witness and being told how " scared " i should be of satan or the demons.

There are those who believe that the explantion for ghosts etc are these entites are confused . The line of thought is if you do not believe in an afterlife and you awake from death, you may be very confused. Some so confused that they cannot pass on through the light, as they call it. It is a common explantion for ghosts and other spirit entites. It is spirit entites who cannot for whatever reason make the transition to the other side .
This is all specualtion and possible explantions for things. This board has a long history of mocking anyone who believes in afterlife experiences. If it didn't happen to them, it is not possible, they feel.

There are other explantions other than the supernatural, but what you did caused no harm and may have helped.
I heard my mother and father in a bedroom they once shared in my home. I did not feel afraid, I did exactly what you did. I went in and just talked to them and encourged them to go on the the next phase of their life b/c they were no longer alive as human beings. I also told them that the things JWS had taught us were wrong so not to be afraid. It felt peaceful and they left . I have not heard one thing from that bedroom or anywhere else since.
I had consulted with someone prior to doing this and they told me that in reality that is all those people do who come out and help possible spirits in your home move on. I also found out that house blessings etc were very commmon -that many people consider this when buying a home. ( did someone die here, was there a murder here, etc)
So it may have all just been electrical, but you feel better and it stopped , so who got hurt?

The Wedding Talk-A Humiliation to Women
by WalkTall init is so strange how you look at things so differently when your eyes are open.
i recently went to a witness wedding and listening to the talk with the constant emphasis on the bride having a 'head' and being submissive to her head was painful to listen to.
and how the bride has to say 'deeply respect' while the groom does not, is the epitome of misogyny.

I have been to weddings were the talk included discussion of the womans's menses and her cycles and how her husband she show understanding. Also the rendering of the martial due. ugh

I know this is a serious thread and my reference here to a movie is not intended to be dismissive- saying this upfront.
I saw " what dreams may come" ( 1998) Robin Williams. In it both of them die but the wifte had commited suicide so she was assigned to hell. Hell was not the hellfire version but more of what has been mentioned in this thread as of her own making, and a cutting off from God that she did herself. Robin Williams loves her so much he goes into hell to get her out or stay with her. She got out of hell by forgiving herself and wanting out. This sorts of fits with the willful separation idea from God idea.
I think there is life after death. I believe our lifeforce, energy- just transferes to another form. I think it is quite possible a person could himself seperate himself from God. In a way that is what JWS do when they DF you. They tell you that if it was in the time of the Bible they could stone you to death but since the law prevents them the most they can do is cut you off from association with all the good decent JWS. Yolu are dead to them and in a sense have sent you to hell. You are cut off, and it is painful and you do feel tormented day and night, esp if you have lost your family .
I in no way thiink the helllifre idea can be true, but I do think that the idea of being cut off from others or God is quite possible. Recall Cain and Able, Cain was banished, cut off from all others. Sort of in hell.
Just some thoughts.
