  Oral Roberts has died today. He was 91.

  Who would give a baby a name like OraL? Wonder if it is short of something? I guess 91 yrs ago Oral did not carry the same connatation it does today.

  i was told they were practically begging those elders and servants who are no longer "being used" to help carry the load once again.

  I knew several elders who had serious doubts. One told me that he kept some thoughts to himself. He was not worried, he was sure he could wait on Jehovah. He just knew enough not to express those doubts.

  I think that is very common.

  Convention Parking Scam - What exactly is it?

  often mentioned but some of us don't know what it refers too (except the fact they charged for parking when they didn't have too - could be argued it offsets the cost of stadium hire).

  is there a specifc example with how much money is raised?.

  It was always highly annoyed they'd use the scriptures to actually try and force us to stay at the hotel of their choice . Equally annoyed that they'd tell me where to park or eat. We would never stay anywhere they said to and parked where the city got the proceeds. I would rather the city got my money than those arse's.

  the above title has nothing to do with personal relationships nor religion.. my life centers around the pursuit of the arts, which, obviously enough, involves much research.

  what i find striking is not so much that some creative souls live in relative obscurity [i.e., they never become discovered] but that some of the most famous and sought after artists through time - writers, actors, composers, etc.

  - have fallen from the public's favor and are often never heard from or about again.

  I like Warren Zevon a lot. He had a few major hits but for the most of his life he was never respected in the music world. I recall seeing him on the Letteman show and him saying he could not get a gig anywhere. Until he died I never knew that he wrote some incredible music. "Werewolfs of London" is what he will be remembered for, but he did so much more. He just never really hit it really big.

  MeatLoaf is similar. He has an amazing voice and presence but has not been a major commerical success since the late 70's . He briefly had a hit in 93 and won a grammy but nothing much since. I follow him as a fan and know he is much better received in the UK than in the Usa. I will never understand why.

  I Saw Goofy Looking JWs Going To The Donut Shop Today

  i'm sure they were witnesses although i only saw a bookbag.

  all 4 men were dressed in dress coats and suits and ties.

  as they emerged from the car they all had this goofy look on their faces like they were so happy to be going to the donut/ coffee shop.. so stupid looking..

  10:30- well they never work long befoer they break. They will probably leave tracts at the donut shop etc( so they can continue their time) and then go on return visits that will never be home. lol

  Could have been a garage door opener at your neighbors house. We had that happen a lot years ago.

  A deceased friend of mine was from Iran. Apparently in the Islamic religion there is belief in a demon sort of entity. I forgot what they call them but they do believe in them- at least that is what he said. He pooh poohed it as he was Ph.d professor /doctor.

  I can't prove it this minute but I bet people in India etc, experience what we might call supernatural things, they may just refer to by another name .

  Things that go bump in the night can go by many names.
