Letter I wrote to the person the caused me to be disfellowshipped
by jwfacts ina thread on another forum reminded me of a letter i wrote to the person that went to the elders and started the proceedings to have me disfellowshipped.
i stopped believing in the religion when i was 25 but continued going for about ten years.
i finally started to fade at 35, but about 6 months after i had stopped going to meetings, a person wrote a letter to the elders about my website, which at the time was anonymous.

He added: 'Privileged communication between members of the congregation and ministers is an absolute right and duty and there is no power in law to breach such a confidence.' But Judge Moreland made an order that the men must reveal what they heard and said: “It is apparent that the three elders who were present when this conversation took place are in possession of relevant evidence as to a point which is of real significance in this case...'They claim the right of confidentiality, they claim that what they heard said by the defendant during the course of that meeting ought to be subject to privilege, as ministers of religion.' Judge Moreland refused to withdraw the summonses and said: 'Public interest is clearly in favour of this evidence being given. 'What was said by the defendant on that occasion is of great significance in the trial.'
Excerpt from the case above. OMG! Iam bewildered. What kind of god is this one they claim to have a duty? When did their god tell them to withold information from secular authorities that are injurious to the victim?

John Cedar Confronts his Jehovah's Witnesses Elder Father on the UN/NGO scandal
by Scott77 inmy father (who is an elder) hasnt been abusive, but he has reaffirmed that he will be shunning us the moment things become official.
we spent a few days vacation together in picturesque northern croatia before i sat him down and attempted to explain my position.
after i revealed the information on the un/ngo scandal to dad by showing him newspaper articles from 2001, he was initially nauseous and didnt want to hear any more.

"...IMO it's better to play the long game, explain that you have good reasons that you don't believe the religion any longer and leave it at that..." Simon I do not know if this strategy can work out for the reason that within the WBT$ world, everyone that 'don't believe the religion any longer' is totally shunned, is apostate and therefore, avoidable at all cost.

His [John Cedar's] father likely had nothing to do with the UN NGO scandal. Band on the Run Right, you are correct. John Cedar's father was and continue to be a victim. This condition is akin to what rip van winkle refers to as 'Cognitive dissonance'

MY 10 YEAR OLD COMES HOME FROM SPECIAL ASSEMBLY DAY AND SAYS...
by PaintedToeNail in"there was a kid who turned down a college scholarship so he could pioneer.
how stupid!
i would do anything to have a scholarship.

These unfortunate kids at behest of their brainwashed parents, seems to be a special target for the Watchtower. Up to this time,I fail to understand why the Watchtower is against higher education when itself is allegedly been sending some handpicked bethelites to universities to persue programs it deems beneifial to itself. Is not this a double standard?

Hi John Cedars, if you are reading this post, please can you tell us if your father who is a Jehovah's Witness Elder, appointed by 'god's holly spirit', is now shunning you because of your boldness in sharing with him that infamous, shocking and scandalous Watchtower UN/NGO scandal?

Honest survey question on effectiveness of 'apostacy'
by Simon init seems like lots of people have big dreams of 'destroying the watchtower'.
it's usually linked to a story of how they were wronged and want some revenge.
do these 'in your face' attempts to convince people that the truth isn't the truth really have an effect?.

"...My firm had several private investigators. Sometimes another lawyer would reveal too much private info about adversaries. It bothered me. For instance, if a law student bothered a client, they knew the grades, where the student sat in each class, and details of any romantic life. They may be sitting on the info..." Band on the Run Very interesting. Now I know why opposition research is so common during presidential campaigns. Knowing the weakenesses and strengths of your opponent certain does play a significant advantage.
