  van nuys >> a man who was an usher at a kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses in sun valley pleaded no contest thursday to sex-related counts involving three boys he met there.. marcelo lozano, 34, of sun valley, pleaded no contest to two counts of continuous sexual abuse and one count of oral copulation of a person under 14.. he is facing 30 years in state prison when he is sentenced oct. 8 by van nuys superior court judge leslie dunn.. lozano is also expected to be ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life following his release from prison.. .

  I think, the victim's Lawyers need to dig deeper and find out if Watchtower-appointed congregation elders knew this practice and failed to warn the family.

  The mention of the "Real Estate Apostates" was something of an interest. It caught my attention. I have never read about ealy christians being involved into real estate development.

  hi folks.

  atlantis has very kindly let me see a copy of the aug 21, 2013 letter to all bodies of elders in the united states.. they are being instructed to re-organize the service meeting for the week commencing september 2nd (next week) to include a special recruitment talk to attract skilled volunteer workers for the new warwick hq.. an interesting feature of the letter is its comparison of the project with nehemiah's rebuilding of the walls of jerusalem.

  considering the relocation of hq is financially motivated more than anything, the analogy is more than a little bewildering.. here is a scan of the opening comments of the two-page outline, to be given in the next local needs item.... .

  Stay in their cheap "apartment" dorm rooms, drink cheap coffee, work 12 hr days, and then have to hurry up and get your a$$ home to keep the "worldly" business running before the bills stack up too high and things go sideways. Oh what a "privilege" and a "blessing"!! No thanks. Tech49

  i continue to puzzle over the future direction the watchtower is taking.

  it seems very strange.. let's review: they are selling everything off in brooklyn, raking in huge sums from that real estate and building heavily in a fairly isolated part of upstate ny.. why?.

  it may be classified as a country club (legally).

  this morning i get a frantic call from my sister (who has been baptized 1 year and one month and never attends meetings anymore).

  in tears she tells me that this morning my father picked her up in the car and told her that i was am apostate.

  that i no longer loved jehovah and that i was going to be disfellowshipped.
