Was that rule for everybody, even the hungry young teenage boys? That's disgusting.

this was brought up just in passing on another thread.

So this is what they say in the letter about the book :
The information is designed for use by the elders only, and other individuals should not have any opportunity to read the information.
and then they drop this little bit in at the end:
PS to secretary:
There is no need for this letter to be retained in the congregation permanent file of policy letters. Additionally, the September 16, 1991, and June 20, 1994, letters to all bodies of elders should be removed from the congregation file and be destroyed.
So they don't want evidence lying around that the book is indeed an official 'secret book for elders only'

Looking forward to meeting up with you then Mattieu - PM me as the time gets closer if you want and we can arrange something
Meeting some of the 'infamous' posters while in the USA was the best. I want to go back real soon (with hubby this time) and see them again - it was such fun and being able to share our stories and experiences was brilliant. Definitely worth saving the pennies for.

Hi Mattieu
If you're ever in Brisbane or surrounds we (husband, son and I) would be happy to meet up.
My son and I just returned from three weeks in California and had a fantastic time meeting up with quite a few from the board while we were over there. I would love to have an apostafest over here if at all possible but I don't think there's too many of us on the board from this area.

we have a visitor from far away with us, "hopscotch" as she is known on the board.. we would to put out a "shout-out" for any and all who would like to join us for a meetup this coming weekend, august 21 or 22. we are open to suggestions for where and when.
i would like to encourage any in the area, and even if you are not, to join us.
i cannot tell you how wonderful it is to meet up with the kindred spirits of those who are on the journey we are all on.
It was hard saying goodbye to you too Dagney and also to AudeSapere. I am going to miss you both badly when I go back home, we've had such a great time together. I've enjoyed every minute of our sightseeing trips and other fun times. And thanks to you both for a lovely afternoon and evening yesterday (even the visit to the Drs was ok having you both there!!)
And also to Tasting Freedom and his lovely wife - thanks also for your company and good times and great cooking. And TF'swife - I had a great time with you on all our shopping expeditions together. Thanks so much for including me in your family. I'll miss you too when I'm back home.
besty and sweetpea - even though our time together was short I really enjoyed being with you. Thank you for listening to my story and for your encouragement. It means a lot to me.
Flipper - thanks so much for your encouraging phone calls. It's been great talking to you in person and sharing our stories and experiences. And thanks for your good advice.
And to those I missed out on meeting due to being unwell the last few days - I hope that I can come back over here soon and that we do get the chance to meet.
love and hugs

Flipper I'll give you a call maybe tomorrow or later in the week - it will be nice to catch up with you and your wife. I am having lots of fun. There are so many beautiful places to see here but of course the best part by far has been meeting up with the lovely people from the board.

Thanks Dagney for putting this on the board.
I have had the most amazingly wonderful time over here in California and meeting up with ones from the board has been fantastic.
Being able to meet face to face and share our stories and experiences has been so good.
Thank you Dagney, Aude Sapere, Tasting Freedom and his beautiful wife, and Besty and Nugget for your great company and also a hello to Cyberjesus for the phone chat. You are all such strong, courageous and beautiful people and it has been a real privilege getting to know you all.
Phillip and Barbara - looking forward to meeting you too and anyone else that would like to join us.
Hopscotch - a very happy traveller
JWN was brought to you today by the letter
does a bear shit in the woods?...
i`ve never really cared about that question until today... bears do shit in the woods.....more importantly on my lawn... .
the garbage can took a beating.....it`s bear proof but has some really cool bear scars now... he dragged his huge bear bum up my cherry tree.....busted branch's everywhere... .
Outlaw I can imagine the damage that bear could do. I recently saw photos of a small plane that had been ripped to shreds by a hungry bear trying to get the food left inside it. Scary stuff.
