You are right, GF, me loving seafood is the lie...I hate most seafood (apart from tuna, fish and chips, and fish sticks).

Am...I'm going to try and keep this thread from being all about what happened here on the board. There's plenty of other threads that discuss it, though, or maybe someone can PM you about it. Personally I'm done with the discussion, it went on far longer than it needed to in the first place.
Jak...really??? That's the best story EVER...keep 'em comin'!!!

From here on out I will be posting only on topics that relate to the site (JW issues or friendly posts that have nothing to do with recent events).
As a final thought on all the craziness I will say that I do not "tolerate" gays...I accept them as I would any other member of society. My best friend in high school was gay...he got me through a LOT of issues (JW and child abuse related) and I will him forever for that. He also helped me get on my feet when I left the organization and ended up homeless for a short time...found me a job and a place to live until I could fend for myself again.
Yes, there are some that display inappropriate behavior at times...the same can be said for any heterosexual troll that posts rubbish on forums just to tick people off. I've seen MANY instances of that (just recently on another forum there was a troll who sent everyone PMs with a heterosexual porn site photo link). Is it acceptable? Of course not. That doesn't mean I'm writing off the whole gay community, though, just as I'm not writing off all heterosexuals because I got some guy on girl porn in a PM.
I everyone...unless they are THEMSELVES a jerk. Then I just ignore.

Edited to add: To clarify...this is my personal stance, for any that cared to know it. I don't expect everyone to agree and am not bashing anyone if they don't. Just wanted to note where I stood because I've tried to stay out of the actual "defending individuals" chat on here (I'm new and don't really know anyone very well just yet) and didn't want that to be seen as me being anti-gay or anything. Peace! V

Great story, Twitch! I've never been cuffed but had a few "talking to's" from officers over the years.
As for me being "sensitive", I really chalk it up to what's been going on here recently and not so much a personal attack on me...so it's all good. I just had to throw that out there as a possibility.

An attempt at reconciliation.
by AK - Jeff inmy cousin - who was also my best friend for 35 years have been involved in an email exchange in recent weeks.
previous to that he was mostly shunning me.
without getting into details, he had given me room to explain things, especially as to how i have 'changed' as a result of leaving.

That's a great letter, Jeff! I hope he isn't too blind to see the sincerity and truth of your words.

I could tell the judge wasn't buying it...I'm so glad you are actively refusing to be shunned by your children and get to spend quality time with them still! *Hugs*

I think you're right, though.

Well this was my lame attempt to get everyone to move on from the weekend's antics and have a little good clean fun sharing stories with each other. Apparently one (or more) of three things is happening, instead...
1. It's too early to expect anyone to want to move on...especially when things keep happening because of the initial events.
2. Nobody has any good stories to share.
3. Nobody cares to respond to this thread because I started it (and may have "ruined my reputation" here already...I sure hope not!).
Feel free to send me a PM if you care to share some insight with me...don't take option #3 as me being "too sensitive", either, it's a legitimate concern I have as most of my comments on various threads have been widely ignored recently (possibly due to a few of my "newbie" comments early on in my posting here...which I've apologized for). If there's something I've done wrong or could do differently I'm certainly open to constructive criticism!
OR, if you want to go ahead and share a story here I'd love to read it! Everything has been so serious lately (for obvious reasons) but I'm hoping at some point we can lighten the mood a bit.

My parents sent me to a "technical" high school so I wouldn't have to go to college. My goal instead? Being a secretary...WOOHOO!!! Oh, and to pioneer (neither of which ended up happening).
You know what the best part is? Last year my Dad comes out with "I don't know why you had so many kids, you're smart and could have done a LOT with your life!" Has he seriously forgotten that he RAISED me to not expect...let alone strive for...the opportunity to go to college? And without college how exactly was I supposed to exercise my "smarts"? Pioneering? Probably not, as he's been inactive for over 10 years himself.
Well sorry, Dad, I decided to be a mother instead. If you wanted me to be better than that maybe you should have built up my self-esteem a little and encouraged me to go to college instead of pretty much telling me my "best" was being a freaking SECRETARY.
That's alright, though, I've taken some college courses and intend on getting at least my Bachelor's degree eventually. Better late than never!
