Your powerful letter is eclipsed only by your more powerful words in this thread.
Might I suggest you now write her another letter, expressing your love and the very things you've expressed to us in this post? Great job.
Hmmm
thank you all who responded to my earlier post, i am pleased to say there has been a major development.
just twenty minutes ago i was sitting at the piano and my wife comes up to me and says, "i talked to the brothers, you were absolutely right, i apologize, he (my minor son) will never go to the meetings again".
i sat there in stunned shock both happy and sad at the same time.

Hmmm
can you briefly sum up the teachings of the wtbts?.
eg "boo" or "god is actually an asshole, this way out" .
bang
"serve the GB or die"
I like this. The entire JW religion summed up in five little words.
.
just curious if anybody in the jw.com community have hobbies in, or are interested in renewable energy technologies, steam engines, or otherwise.... thats where my interest lies, would love to chat with an 'apostolic' like mind about the subject..
I'm interested in free sources of energy, but the local power company frowned upon my jumper cables running from their pole.
Hmmm
my father passed away in october.
today would have been his and mom's 50th wedding anniversary.
it's been a tough day - i miss him a lot.. dad was an elder, and mom is still a very active jw.
Dawn,
Very bittersweet. It's encouraging that the society's silly twisting of scripture hasn't totally robbed you of your mother; that some people are able to realize that family ties are more important than ever-changing doctrine.
Hmmm
organ transplants: cannibalism!.
as with blood, the wts originally had no objections to organ transplants.
in a questions from readers section in the watchtower, aug. 1, 1961, page 480, the question about organ transplants is answered pointedly:.
BTTT
Keep it up, Jan! Pretty soon you'll have more volumes than Studies In The Scripture!
Hmmm
so how many here were pioneers?
ha ha ha.
i used up my teenage years pioneering, good thing i didn't go to college or university i could be well educated and in a good job.poo.
Right out of High School.
I'm sure glad I didn't waste my youth going to college, getting a good job, and starting a family like the rest of decieved mankind.
fourskin started a battle of the sexes with his "where are the feminine women" thread.
i am wondering about men.
he has a muscle car, however, he has no muscle definition.
Seems like there's a lot of stooping to conquer here.
masculine men......same as real men? Naw--Im not sure if either exists....most of them are fraud anyway.
I CHALLENGE all you men to give us proof that you are indeed masculine......!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Show us the muscles!
Show us the brawn!
Show us some "superman" qualities!
and if you can do that..I will become as feminine as needed.....I will put on the frilliest thing I own and act sooo southernly demure.
Who is willing to take the challenge....
Who has the
gutsballs to do it?
Spice, I'm glad you pointed out how shallow 4skins was being in the thread he started. I'm glad you called him on the carpet for judging a woman's femininity by such superficial things as a thin waist(/muscles) and feminine gait(/brawn). I'm glad you exposed how wrong it was for him to insult most women with such blanket statements. [insert rolley-eye thingie here]

it's been eight years since i have spoken to any of my relatives.
some (cousins, nieces, nephews) were young children at the time; now some are 18 and older.
they are not allowed to speak to me, but of course those rules don't apply in the reverse.
Go for it, Tammy!
If they ever come to their senses where this religion is concerned, they'll remember how you made an effort to keep the door open, and they'll be grateful.
Hmmm
hello, board!.
i am grinning this morning, happy to have spent most of the past 18 hours in the company of some wonderful people from this board and their friends!
i was supposed to post a report last night, but somehow a pillow and a comforter seemed a better choice than the desk chair, so i'm posting this in a hurry on my way out to brunch!
Outnfree led us on a high-speed chase through a Diluvian downpour, through red lights and over curbs on the way to the Place Of Adult Beverages. Jourles actually had to smash through a fruit stand to stay on her tail--it was like The French Connection! We followed a circuitous route through winding side streets, and I swear we passed Englishman tending to his garden (who mumbled something about "car groups" and turned his hose on us).
She later regaled us with her stories of being followed by the elders, and it was obvious that she had much experience in evasive maneuvers.
At the bar, I (lightweight that I am) nursed my libation while Larc and Jourles debated the finer points of microbrewing by sampling everything on the menu.
Hmmm
well, i hope?.
btw, this board software is wonderful!
just thought i'd let you know that!.
Welcome Matt.
There was a mormon running around here recently... and ex-mormonRobertson. Wonder what ever happened to him?
