90 years ago today...

after more than 4 years of slaughter, after over 8 million military deaths (and more than 6 million civilains killed) and 21 million + wounded, senseless battles continued to be fought for 6 additional hours.
men were after glory, revenge, under orders from likely insane commanders, a myriad of reasons.

TO CLARIFY A COUPLE OF THINGS ABOUT MY PROJECT.....
by Mary infirst of all, i want to thank everyone for all the words of encouragment and compliments i've received regarding the project i put together.
not only will it (hopefully) help some family members to see that something's not right regarding many of the wt's doctrines, but it was therapeutic for me to do as well.
like many other ex-witnesses, i was emotionally devastated and extremely angry when i discovered that this religion was not "the truth" as was drilled into our brains from day one.

Being on this board, reading all of your comments, stories etc. has been an eye opening experience for me. I came here feeling lost, confused, overwhelmed... I thought maybe it was the truth, but it never felt quite right. I thought I knew my JW friend, but there was this HUGE facet of his life that I just never understood... Now I get it. I still hold on to a thread of hope that someday he'll realise it's not the "truth". I pray that he will stop putting off living in the hopes that the big "A" is right around the corner... Yet I no longer can bear the burden of trying to lighten the load for him. I did my best, and maybe something I said will someday resonate with him. Thanks to everyone for posting your stories, sharing your insights and your wealth of knowledge. If it were not for what I read here I might have been well on my way to becoming a baptised publisher... I would have given up my friends, my family and many of the things worthwhile in my life... Thank you, thank you, thank you...

Advice...
by megs insooo... around 6 months ago (seems like a lifetime ago) i filled in the nice little form on the wtb website saying i was interested in a bible study... after this i went to a kingdom hall (cue ominous music) and ended up here.
anyway, they have now responded to my online enquiry of 6 months ago and have sent a note to my house saying they'll be there on thursday... how do i get out of this???
if i'm not home will they just go away??

I called and left her message saying someone else picked me up as a study from a different KH. Technically true... Anyway... If they're looking for new members, you'd think there would be less than a six-month turnaround on emails!!!
For those still in... If someone in your zone e-mails a request for a BS to the WTS, how do YOU get that request, and how long does it take?

i've attempted to verify the information, even called the united nations, but haven't gotten to a person who can say if this meeting happened.
my gut says this is a contrived experience with many details just not adding up...but you never know.
